For example, people need to book doctor appointments before coming to the hospital. This process gives doctors ample time to prepare for the meeting. The information about the patient and the arrival time is vital information for the hospital. Other bits of information that are important for hospital operations are the medical histories of the patients.
This information is very sensitive and prior to the incident, St. John’s Hospital, the administration had prided itself on having the most stable information security system that served as the standard for other hospitals in the area. The administration has found ways of ensuring that it preserves the privacy of patients by having information about patients land in the hands of the relevant people only. However, an incident recently occurred where printouts containing patient information were being discarded haphazardly. The printouts from the restricted area were not shredded, and they were, therefore, being seen by the cleaning staff during late hours. The information on the printouts could vary greatly, and the hospital has to step up and face this problem before it blows up on their faces.
The response from the hospital’s administration has to be fast, and it also has to ensure that it covers all the bases of the problem so as to find a suitable solution to the problem; it will lead to the complete avoidance of it ever recurring in the future. The first step is to investigate who was behind the mishap. The printouts must have been made for the use of the hospital staff. One person must have requested the printing and another been responsible for the handling of the files after use. The reason for the incident might be due to human error or because there is a fault in the hospital’s process of dealing with the printouts. Finding out who is responsible for the poor storage or disposal of the printouts will help find out what the problem is and find a good way of handling the printouts.
The next step is to find out how much information was left out to the public. In this step, one has to find out exactly which unauthorized people saw printouts. Were the printouts receipts? Were they prescriptions by the doctors or diagnosis of the patient’s disease or the condition? Information technology involves the use of technology in developing, maintaining, and using
computer systems, software, and networks for the processing and distribution of data. Healthcare
information technology includes all of the technologies used to transmit and manage health
information for use by consumers, providers, payers, insurers, and others in the healthcare system
(Blumenthal & Glaser, 2007). Information technology and healthcare information technology are
both part of a larger concept, known as an information system, which combines hardware,
software, and infrastructure, as well as the individuals employed to plan, control, coordinate, and
make decisions regarding such technology (Laudon & Laudon, 2013).
Over the past several decades, computers and information technology have transformed count-
less aspects of life. Nearly every industry has changed in some way due to the influence of these
technologies, and the healthcare profession is no exception. Every aspect of healthcare has been
altered or improved through the use of information technologies and more advanced information
systems.
A healthcare information technology system fulfills numerous requirements. Consider a patient
who has been transported to the hospital by ambulance following an automobile accident. The
information technology system would record all of the following:
• The time of arrival
• Patient’s status at the time of arrival
• Patient’s contact information, such as for a spouse or parent
• Patient’s financial status (e.g., type of insurance)
• Initial screening information (triage)
• Physician placed in charge of the patient
• Medical assistants who help with patient care (e.g., nurses, medical specialists)
• Tests given and results (e.g., X-ray, blood test, screening for drugs and alcohol)
• Recommended course of treatment

The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) passed by President Barack Obama promotes the adaptation of EHR system by providing health organizations and providers with incentives through Medicare and Medicaid for meaningful utilization of EHR systems (McGonigle&Mastrian, 2017). Technology in nursing has evolved and transformed the way nurses work and continues to grow, along with the role’s nurses play in today’s health care environment (Melissa Wirkus, 2016).For many years the paper chat served as the patient’s primary medical records such as medical histories, medical diagnosis, medications, and other pertinent patient information. In the future, an expected healthcare technology trend in nursing practice will be a significant increase in the use of the Electronic health record (EHR) instead of the traditional paper charting As technology continues to grow so does additional information technology that helps caregivers, engage patients and improve efficiencies and better patient outcomes (Laureate Education, 2018). For example, patients can now have access to their medical health records at their own convenient through online portals and can effectively communicate with their health care provider. In addition, patients are also using social media platforms like Facebook and twitter to get/communicate with others with the same health-related diagnosis.
According to McGonigle & Mastrain “Public health information systems represent a partnership of federal, state, and local public health professionals” (2017). In the present-day majority of health care organizations are embracing the implementation of electronic health records. In the hospital I work, we are making use of the Meditech operating system. Patient medical histories, diagnosis, home medications, and current medications are updated and readily available. During patient’s hospital stay, all health care providers can log in with their personal access codes to document as well as view patients’ labs, patient notes, care plans and so on. More so, one intriguing benefit for the patients is during the patient’s hospital stay and at discharge, patients are educated about our patient portal where they can easily log in to look up their personal medical records.

However, Philip and his team have run into a variety of challenges and problems as they attempt to complete these tasks. In identifying patients to contact about the outreach programs and support groups, Philip’s team has had to browse the hospital’s entire electronic health record (EHR). The team has also run across significant holes in the EHR as they try to contact patients; many patients’ contact information is inaccurate or out of date. Midtown Family Clinic was opened in 1990 by Dr. Harold Thompson as a small internal medical practice. It was opened in an environment characterized with increasing number of new family residences. Dr. Thompson acted as the manager and the owner of the clinic and was assisted by two registered nurses named Maria Costa and Vivian Halliday. The two nurses play rotational duties where one takes care of the front desk while the other one assists Thompson during patient visits. This situation puts the two nurses in a busy environment. Participant observation is one type of data collection method typically done in the qualitative research paradigm. It is a widely used methodology in many disciplines, particularly cultural anthropology, less so in sociology, communication studies, human geography and social psychology. Its aim is to gain a close and intimate familiarity with a given group of individuals (such as a religious, occupational, sub cultural group, or a particular community) and their practices through an intensive involvement with people in their cultural environment, usually over an extended period of time. The method originated in the field research of social anthropologists, especially Bronisław Malinowski in Britain, the students of Franz Boas in the United States, and in the later urban research of the Chicago School of sociology.

History and development
Participant observation was used extensively by Frank Hamilton Cushing in his study of the Zuni Indians in the later part of the nineteenth century, followed by the studies of non-Western societies by people such as Bronisław Malinowski,[1]E.E. Evans-Pritchard,[2] and Margaret Mead[3] in the first half of the twentieth century. It emerged as the principal approach to ethnographicresearch by anthropologists and relied on the cultivation of personal relationships with local informants as a way of learning about a culture, involving both observing and participating in the social life of a group. By living with the cultures they studied, researchers were able to formulate first hand accounts of their lives and gain novel insights. This same method of study has also been applied to gro.

viduals around the world. Connectivity leads to the ability to communicate in real time with
people everywhere. Shopping can be completed at home, travel plans can be made more easily,
and a variety of additional benefits accrue from having access to the World Wide Web.
Information technology involves the use of technology in developing, maintaining, and using
computer systems, software, and networks for the processing and distribution of data. Healthcare
information technology includes all of the technologies used to transmit and manage health
information for use by consumers, providers, payers, insurers, and others in the healthcare system
(Blumenthal & Glaser, 2007). Information technology and healthcare information technology are
both part of a larger concept, known as an information system, which combines hardware,
software, and infrastructure, as well as the individuals employed to plan, control, coordinate, and
make decisions regarding such technology (Laudon & Laudon, 2013).
Over the past several decades, computers and information technology have transformed count-
less aspects of life. Nearly every industry has changed in some way due to the influence of these
technologies, and the healthcare profession is no exception. Every aspect of healthcare has been
altered or improved through the use of information technologies and more advanced information
systems.
A healthcare information technology system fulfills numerous requirements. Consider a patient
who has been transported to the hospital by ambulance following an automobile accident. The
information technology system would record all of the following:
• The time of arrival
• Patient’s status at the time of arrival
• Patient’s contact information, such as for a spouse or parent
• Patient’s financial status (e.g., type of insurance)
• Initial screening information (triage)
• Physician placed in charge of the patient
• Medical assistants who help with patient care (e.g., nurses, medical specialists)
• Tests given and results (e.g., X-ray, blood test, screening for drugs and alcohol)
• Recommended course of treatment
• Medical services provided
• Medicines administered or prescriptions written
• Patient’s status at the time of admittance to the hospital or discharge

Technology in nursing has evolved and transformed the way nurses work and continues to grow, along with the role’s nurses play in today’s health care environment (Melissa Wirkus, 2016).For many years the paper chat served as the patient’s primary medical records such as medical histories, medical diagnosis, medications, and other pertinent patient information. In the future, an expected healthcare technology trend in nursing practice will be a significant increase in the use of the Electronic health record (EHR) instead of the traditional paper charting As technology continues to grow so does additional information technology that helps caregivers, engage patients and improve efficiencies and better patient outcomes (Laureate Education, 2018). For example, patients can now have access to their medical health records at their own convenient through online portals and can effectively communicate with their health care provider. In addition, patients are also using social media platforms like Facebook and twitter to get/communicate with others with the same health-related diagnosis.
According to McGonigle & Mastrain “Public health information systems represent a partnership of federal, state, and local public health professionals” (2017). In the present-day majority of health care organizations are embracing the implementation of electronic health records. In the hospital I work, we are making use of the Meditech operating system. Patient medical histories, diagnosis, home medications, and current medications are updated and readily available. During patient’s hospital stay, all health care providers can log in with their personal access codes to document as well as view patients’ labs, patient notes, care plans and so on. More so, one intriguing benefit for the patients is during the patient’s hospital stay and at discharge, patients are educated about our patient portal where they can easily log in to look up their personal medical records.

In doing so, Stephanie often identifies problems with the medication the physician prescribed; patients are sometimes prescribed a medication to which they have a known allergy or one that conflicts with another medication they are currently taking. In addition, the pharmacy sometimes sends the wrong medication or the wrong dosage. Furthermore, for patients who have been transferred from other parts of the hospital, such as the intensive care unit or the maternity ward, Stephanie often encounters duplicate drug orders or incorrect medications sent from the pharmacy.
Scenario 2:
General Health Hospital is implementing new outreach programs and preventative care support groups for patients with certain conditions or health risks, such as diabetes, smoking, and obesity. Philip, a nurse leader, is the manager of a team of nurses to organize these programs and groups and to identify patients who would be eligible and interested in being involved in these opportunities. However, Philip and his team have run into a variety of challenges and problems as they attempt to complete these tasks. In identifying patients to contact about the outreach programs and support groups, Philip’s team has had to browse the hospital’s entire electronic health record (EHR). The team has also run across significant holes in the EHR as they try to contact patients; many patients’ contact information is inaccurate or out of date. Furthermore, Philip’s team has partnered with the hospital’s Appointments Desk personnel in sending reminders about meeting dates and times to patients who express interest. Midtown Family Clinic was opened in 1990 by Dr. Harold Thompson as a small internal medical practice. It was opened in an environment characterized with increasing number of new family residences. Dr. Thompson acted as the manager and the owner of the clinic and was assisted by two registered nurses named Maria Costa and Vivian Halliday. The two nurses play rotational duties where one takes care of the front desk while the other one assists Thompson during patient visits. This situation puts the two nurses in a busy environment. Patients have been used to waiting for long hours to be attended to. This situation worsens in case one nurse is absent.
Thompson needs new nurse or physician since the clinic has three examination rooms. According to him, this would reduce patients’ waiting time, aid in growing the clinic and also providing better service to patients. The operation of the clinic is paper work. The front office computer is only used for stand-alone appointment scheduling and internet connection. The clinic is faced with various challenges in its operations. Due to paper work system, there is no quick way to check in patients. This results to wastage of valuable time for the doctor. There is also risk of losing patients files hence making it difficult during looking up patient’s history. Longer time is taken in pulling the files for all patients with appointment. Formulating the Problem Statement and the Purpose Statement
Over the past decade, there have been several changes in drug addiction treatment that has shown results that show reduced associated health and social costs by more than the cost of the treatments. It has been found that treatments cost much less that the alternatives, such as incarcerating people with addictions. There are many savings related to healthcare, which includes, total savings that can exceed costs with a ratio of 12 to 1. Major savings to the individual and to society also stems from fewer interpersonal conflicts; greater workplace productivity; and fewer drug-related accidents, including overdoses and deaths (Woody, M.D., 2018).
Problem Statement
A common misperception is detoxification cures the addiction, yet addiction is a chronic disorder requiring long term multimodal treatment (Korsmeyer et al., 2009. Long-term treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders might reduce recidivism rates and lessen costs for rehabilitation. Goldstein, A. (1997). examined the benefits of long-term substance abuse and posited the benefits. Goldstein further suggested not treating addiction appropriately or at all contributes to the high costs associated with substance use in the United States.
Insurance companies are reluctant to support long term substance abuse treatment; however, Weisner, Ray, Mertens, Satre and Moore (2003) noted patients receiving a minimum of six months substance treatment abstained from drug and alcohol use at least five years after treatment yet abusers of alcohol were less likely to remain sober for lengthy periods of time after treatment (Weisner et al., 2003).
According to the National Drug Institute (2012), every dollar invested in substance abuse treatment yields a return of $5.50 in reduced drug-related crime, costs associated with criminal justice, and theft. Healthcare savings can exceed costs by a 12 to 1 ratio. Therefore, drug addiction treatment reduces costs associated with primary care and is less costly than incarceration. Addressing addiction also contributes to the more positive aspects of life, such as increase in work productivity, and fewer incidents related to drug use, fewer overdoses and deaths.
Purpose Statement
The purpose of this correlational study is to see if a relationship exists among periods of sobriety and four levels of substance abuse treatment. The research will examine substance abuse treatment throughout various levels of care: higher levels (detox, Inpatient (IP), and Residential (RTC) and lower levels (partial hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and routine Outpatient (OP). Current trends in substance abuse treatment provides evidence that length of treatment is inadequate contributing to more frequent relapses among substance abusers. · Idea
Make a research of about banking system and economy of Russian Federation and connect it to small business, politics and corruption. Recognize week points, and establish possible solutions, that can improve economy of Russia.
· Introduction
The central Bank of Russia was created since 1990s and up to know days it is the bank of the first level, which is the main bank for holding federal funds of 475 billion dollars up to know. The central bank is the main one to issue banknotes and is acting as the main coordinating and regulatory body of the entire credit system of the country. Also it controls the activities of credit organizations, issues and withdraws licenses from them for banking operations, and credit organizations work with other legal entities and individuals. The economy of Russia is directly connected with Central bank and plays the biggest role. Currently the situation in our country is not the best, and the crisis is developing in bad way. Year by year people are living worse, mainly due to inflation, people who got the normal job, let’s say as a teacher have the same salary but the prices for the goods are growing dramatically. The bank and economy of Russia are seriously affected by prices for oil which now days jump a lot in prices, mainly due to geo politics of our country.

As in beginning my main objective was to study the bank system and the central bank of Russian Federation. But after analyzing data and thinking about all of those years, looking how the economy and our currency, falls in front of Dollar and Euro, which means the economy struggles and there are weak points in Russian economy.

1) Small business has two chooses or they fall as a bankruptcy or they don’t pay taxes.
Reasons: Low wages vs high prices for goods, high inflation, monopolization of a number of economic sectors and bureaucracy.

Reasons: 52% of corruption, which means the government don’t get paid taxes. Government regulations

Abstract:
Research summary We review advances in research methodology used in global strategy research and provide suggestions on how researchers can improve their analyses and arguments. Methodological advances in the extraction of information, such as computer-aided text analysis, and in the analysis of datasets, such as differences-in-differences and propensity score matching, have helped deal with challenges (e.g., endogeneity and causality) that bedeviled earlier studies and resulted in conflicting findings. These methodological advances need to be considered as tools that complement theoretical arguments and well-explained logics and mechanisms so that researchers can provide better and more relevant recommendations to managers designing the global strategies of their organizations. Managerial summary We review advances in research methodology used in global strategy research and provide suggestions for improving researchers' analyses and arguments. Methodological advances in the extraction of information and in the analysis of datasets have helped researchers deal with challenges that bedeviled earlier studies and resulted in conflicting findings. These advances have provided researchers with the ability to obtain valid, unbiased results with clear and relevant managerial implications. Such methodological advances need to be considered as tools that complement theoretical arguments and well-explained logics and mechanisms so that researchers can provide better and more relevant recommendations to managers designing the global strategies of their organizations. In this week’s discussion about strategic planning, we discussed more corporate strategy. We learned that there are three scopes of corporate strategy which include vertical integration, diversification as well as geographic scope. We also learned the role of the company leaders in the strategic planning of the company. The discussion also touched on concepts such as tape, innovation integration global strategy and international strategy among many other concepts (Rothaermel, 2019). The main aim of these concepts is to help the company strategically plan for activities that will help the company grow. The concepts also help to align the company strategically with other companies. In this journal, I will discuss some of these concepts and how they apply to the company’s strategic planning.
Caterpillars Inc. short versus long term goals.
Caterpillars Inc. has created both short term and long-term goals to help grow the company. The short-term goals of the company are mainly key improvements in various areas are that enable the company to achieve its long-term goals. These short-term goals include improvements in renewable energy areas, water consumption intensity, reducing the number of recordable injuries, improving sales and revenues, and reducing the GHG emissions intensity in the next five years (Caterpillar Inc., 2019). The company also has long term goals that encompass the short term goals and this includes, reducing the energy intensity by 50 percent, reducing the emissions of the company by 50 percent, reducing the water consumption in the company by 50 percent and reducing the injury recorded rate in the company by 60 percent (Caterpillar Inc., 2019). All of these should be achieved in 5 years. The short term goals are the necessary steps that the company must take to achieve its long term goals. The main purpose of achieving the goals is to reduce the costs of operations, offer better products and reduce pollution to the environment.
Mergers and acquisitions contributed to the company’s performance.
The company has acquired three companies through mergers and acquisitions in the last 5 years. Two of the three companies acquired by caterpillar are from the private sector and have divested a total of 8 assets. These mergers and acquisitions have enabled caterpillar companies to increase their aggressiveness in the market place increasing its dominance in the global industrial market (Merger. 2019). It has helped the companies increase their value, improve their overall performance and has reached an increased growth in the regional and global market share and its products in the market. It has established a strategic market realignment in the company’s network helping it achieve more market shares and thrive well in the last 5 years.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
