Shady.”

One of them I was trying to let go, and I looked at the mirror and smashed it. That was the whole intro
of the Slim Shady EP. Slim Shady was coming to haunt me…”
• “Slim Shady is just the evil thoughts that come into my head. Things I shouldn't be thinking about. Not
to be gimmicky, but people should be able to determine when I'm serious and when I'm fu*kin’ around.
That's why a lot of my songs are funny. I got a warped sense of humor I guess.”
6. One of Eminem’s friends always used to sign him up for
battles at local clubs.
At one of his battles at one of the local clubs...

Relapse: Refill, Recovery. A biography about Eminem and his drug abuse. This title represents his 2010 album “Recovery” and his 2009 album “Relapse.” “Refill” is the name of the second version of “Relapse” after adding a few new songs the mix including “Forever” by Drake.\n
*Born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, known as Eminem.\n*On October 17th, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Deborah Nelson Mathers and Marshall Bruce Mathers II.\n*Marshall’s dad left not long after he was born. Eminem once said “My father? I never knew him. Never even seen a picture of him.”\n*Eminem’s mother later had a child with another man after his father left. Nate was his new half brother.\n\n\n\n\n
*Where the quote is from.\n*Eminem and his family moved to Detroit where they were constantly moving to different trailer park homes on 8 Mile. \n*The even had to live with family or in their car when money was tight.\n\n
*Eminem was into the genre at an early age.\n*”When I was 9 years old, my uncle put me on to the Breakin' soundtrack. The first rap song I ever heard was Ice-T, 'Reckless.' From L.L. to the Fat Boys, and all that shit, I was fascinated. When L.L. first came out with 'I'm Bad', I wanted to do it, to rhyme. Standing in front of the mirror, I wanted to be like L.L.”\n*He started to perform when he was only 13.\n*At times Eminem wished he was black so he didn’t have to receive the negative attitude of others considering the stereotype “white people can’t rap.”\n
I’m sure everyone wonders where the name “Slim Shady” came from.\n*Explain. Rhymes with a lot of things.\n\n
*Scene in 8 Mile.\n*Explain vocabulary.\n\n
Infinite was released in 1996 as his first full length and professionally packaged album. They only made 1,000 cassettes and 100 vinyls of the album. We all know how most songs by Eminem don’t usually avoid profane words, but Eminem purposely made radio appropriate versions of the songs. Before the album he used the name M&M to represent his initials but changed it to Eminem for his album. Most of the songs feature of or more of these artists.\n
*1997 Rap Olympics was where Eminem and Dr Dre met for the first time.\n*Dre was famous so this was Eminem’s big break where his career finally launched for good.\n
*According to Guiness Book of World Records, Eminem is the fastest selling rapper ever.\n*His third album, The Marshall Mathers LP, which I have, sold over 1.7 million copies in its first week alone.\n*We all know the song “My Name Is” but did you know it was the first rap video to hit #1 on MTV’s TRL. \n*One of my favorite songs “Lose Yourself” was the first rap song to win an Oscar for Best Song.\n*Paraphrase last part.\n
Here’s where everything took a turn for the worse. Because of the exciting night life and the pressure of the excessive amount of traveling and performing, he used drugs to take things off his mind. I also believe if Eminem didn’t grow up in a life of poverty and had a caring father around, he wouldn’t have had as big of a problem with drugs.\n
He was taking up to or over 20 pills a day of Valium, Ambien, and Vicodin. Painkillers that don’t always work FOR you. He also used Tylenol along with other prescription medication. The addiction caused a major slump in his music, and excessive weight gain. Aside from his album “The Re-Up” in 2007, “Relapse” would be his first album in 5 years.\n
In 2005, Eminem went to rehab, only to sink himself into an even deeper addiction. Eminem finally decided to stop drugs when he nearly died of a methodone overdose.\n*”Had I known it was methadone, I probably wouldn't have taken it,” he said.\n*He confessed to his fans he needed help when he was on stage with Elton John.\n
Last month, he celebrated 3 1/2 years of sobriety. This past summer he release “Bad Meets Evil” featuring Royce Da 5’ 9”. This album is unreal and has sold 436,000 records in its first week, and a record of 290,000 on iTunes.\n
