Mental disorders are derived from biological processes and given the vulnerabilities, the vast invasiveness of mental health can be driven by both biological and environmental factors. Since mental disorders are not discriminatory based on the merits of race, gender, religion, greed, or faith, the effects are pertinent to anyone. It is hard to suggest than sin is could be the premise of mental challenges. According to the Bible, “God's intention for the world is that we live in peace and health and wholeness with ourselves, God, other humans, and the whole creation. Suffering of any kind (and mental, emotional, spiritual torment can be the most awful kind of suffering) is a negative, a problem, not the way things should be, not what God wants for us”. (Simundson, p.140)
If we take a close observation at schizophrenia (personality disorder), this disorder creates hallucinations and various heard voices. The voices can be uncommon and unknown and easily interpreted to be the voice of the evil one (enemy). Those suffering from this also often times have compulsions that are considered to be anti. Can it really be interpreted that this disorder is from sin and sin alone?

- A moral action is any action that proceeds from our deliberate will and is either good or evil. A sin is a deliberate evil action contrary to God's will.
- The great battle is the daily struggle between good and evil. Our opponents are the world, the flesh, and the devil, which tempt us away from God.
- With God's help through prayer and the Church, Christians can achieve victory over sin despite temptations from the world, flesh, and devil.

- Write down your own definition of evil. Define evil as opposed to just “bad” Is all suffering evil? When is it not evil? Where does evil come from?
- The problem itself arises because of certain qualities which religious believers grant to God, and the consequences of these given certain observations about the world. To illustrate these consider three qualities that most religious believers would not want to deny to God: absolute goodness (omnibenevolence), absolute power (omnipotence) and absolute knowledge (omniscience). Now, add to this the observation that there is evil in the world. Setting aside for the moment the question of how a good God could create a world with evil in it, ask yourself why such a deity does not do something to help combat such evil.
- The essential question in theodicy is “if God is good and he is all powerful (omnipotent) how can he allow evil to exist in the world?” Irenaius -- God does not necessarily intend evil to provide a means for spiritual growth. God does not intervene in human affairs to prevent evil because that would be to interfere with free will. Augustine -- for God to have created a being who could only have performed good actions would have been logically impossible. Process Theodicy - Process theology argues that the reality of God is not fixed and that God himself is still developing. From this point of view, God is "dipolar" - that is, has two "poles", one mental and one physical. The physical pole is the material world itself, which acts almost as God's "body".
- Law of Karma - for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first, and this second event will be pleasant or unpleasant according as its cause was skillful or unskillful.
