Salvation is defined as deliverance from sin and its effects, the means by which this deliverance is achieved, and liberation from ignorance. There are different understandings of salvation as being individual or collective, and occurring in this life or the next. These include finding meaning in life, desire to be remembered after death, personal completion, joining the spirit world after death, participation in the cosmic cycle, and facing judgement after death.
