School lunches now qualify for reimbursement under new federal guidelines that require lunches to include healthy options from five components: grains must be whole grains; vegetables and fruits are served daily; proteins include chicken, beef, fish, eggs or beans; and milk choices include low-fat white, fat-free white, chocolate or lactose-free milk. The document encourages students to eat school lunches as they are now more nutritious and delicious.
