Means - Universal life force. It is a Japanese word of two parts. - 'Rei' meaning universal and 'Ki' meaning life force or energy. It is gentle, harmless, natural healing energy which helps you balance your energy levels.
History of ReikiDr. Mikao Usui discovered Reiki during a mystical experience on Mt. Kurama, a sacred mountain north of Kyoto, Japan in March, 1922. A few months later he started a Reiki organization called the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai which means “Usui Reiki Healing Society.”He also opened a Reiki clinic in Harajuku, Aoyama, Tokyo. There he taught classes and gave Reiki treatments. After the Great Kanto earthquake in 1923 the demand for Reiki was great and it was at this time that Usui began training other teachers.
IsReiki a religion? Although Reiki energy is spiritual in nature, Reiki is not a religion.  During a treatment, the practitioner is a channel for the energy. The energy flows through the practitioner, and into you. Thepractitioner is not the healer. Your body takes as much energy as needed. Once your body takes all the useful and necessary energy it needs, your body will stop accepting the energy. When the flow of the "Life Force Energy" is disrupted, weakened or blocked, emotional or health problems tend to occur
Chakras and Reiki
There is a clear connection between the condition of a chakra and the condition of the corresponding organ. A chakra can be over active, under active or in balance. Using reiki can give the chakras balance and the organs health.
According to tradition each chakra also corresponds to one of the major glands in the body. The reiki hand positions not only cover the chakras but also major organs and glands!Reiki Benefits.
Reiki Ideals:Kyo dake wa: “just for today”Ikaru na: do not be angryShimpai suna: do not worryKansha shite: be gratefulGyo o hage me: work with integrityHito ni shisetsu ni: be kind to others
THANKS
