The OECD Tractor Codes were established in 1959 and provide rules and procedures for officially testing tractors. They include 9 codes related to performance, noise, rollover protection structures, and falling object protection structures. Over 3000 tractor models have been tested for performance and over 10,800 tested for noise levels and driver protection. The codes facilitate international trade by standardizing testing to certify tractors and their safety features on a comparative basis across 27 member countries and the EU. This increases transparency, simplifies trade procedures, and opens markets.
