Chulalongkorn University is Thailand's first institution of higher education, founded nearly a century ago to produce high-quality graduates with knowledge and skills to contribute to society. For over 90 years, it has developed its programs, resources, facilities, and services with alumni support to serve as an intellectual community for Thai society. Burapha University is one of Thailand's major public universities located in Chonburi Province. It began as a teacher's college and has since expanded its degree offerings and upgraded to a full university to support regional industrialization. The 4th AUN/SEED-Net Regional Conference on Biotechnology will be held at Chulalongkorn University from January 25-27, 2012 to discuss advances in
Engineering appliances and gadgets are dominating the life of human being. Therefore, it is a need to understand the characteristics of engineering materials being used to produce these products. The materials that are being selected must fulfil some of the basic requirements. To design, engineered, improve, and develop any of these products, it is essential to understand the properties of materials. In this “easy-to-follow” and “easy-to-understand” training course, engineering materials properties will be elaborate in detail.
Upon completion of this training course, participants should be able:
To explain concepts related to electrical, thermal, optical, magnetic, dielectric, superconductivity properties.
To correlate theory and principle of solid state materials with their engineering applications.
To suggest engineering materials for certain engineering applications
Suitable for: 1. Technical Personnel and Decision-Makers are encouraged to participate in this training. 2. DECISION MAKERS: Technical Directors, Managers, Purchasers. 3. TECHNICAL PERSONNEL: Lecturers, Technical Sales, Marketing, Failure Analysis, Research & Development, Quality Control and Assurance, Production Engineers or Technicians. The characteristic of surface and near-surface regions of materials can be characterised by various surface analysis techniques. Applications of many engineering materials are determined by the surface and near-surface structures. Therefore, the well being of this region is essential in order to obtain a pre-required condition for those materials to be applied for a specific application. Typically, failure of engineering products may be traced back to surface/near-surface contamination or surface reconstruction. In order to obtain more information related to the failure, in-sight of these regions need to be exposed. This course is outlined to introduce basic principles of surface science, which serve as an essential foundation to explain the operation concepts and applications of several important surface analysis techniques. Know-how of interpreting the analysis data is also explained in this “easy-to-follow” and “easy-to-understand” training course. With these and the support of brief but sufficient fundamental theories, skill of selecting a relevant technique with respect to its practical engineering usage will be covered. Ultimate goal for this course is to increase level of knowledge in making a correct technical decision to solve surface related issues and transform knowledge into applications.
Suitable for:
1. Technicians, engineers and researchers
2. Decision makers, policy makers, and managers
Engineering materials are the core of any engineering products. The performance of the products is determined by the behaviour and characteristics of the designed materials according to their required specifications. Therefore, it is extremely important to understand the characteristics of the materials. This can be done by performing an appropriate and reliable characterization or testing on the materials. By doing that, information that is of interest namely electrical, mechanical, thermal, optical, and chemical property can be acquired and subsequently correlate with the product performance. To acquire this information, knowledge of characterization tools, limitation of the tools, and application of the tools is essential. By having this knowledge, it may help engineers and researchers to select a suitable tool for a specific purpose. The characterization techniques being introduced are suitable for materials with dimensionality ranging from nanometer to macrometer scale (or nanostructures to bulk materials).

STUDY ON REFORM OF ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY EXPERIMENTAL TEACHING UNDER BACKGROU...ijejournal
To meet the requirements for the cultivating of the high-quality engineering talents for the development of
the “new engineering”, the college’s electronic information majors develop the teaching reforms of the
electronic technology experiment based on the overall planning and development of the professional
construction, and explore the cultivation of the active learning ability and practical innovation capability
of the students under the development of the “new engineering ”, which is able to provide the support for
cultivating the high-level engineering and scientific talents. This paper explores and reforms the electronic
technology experimental teaching from the aspects of the experimental teaching system, teaching content,
teaching methods, teaching process, teaching assessment and teacher construction, which can propose the
new ideas for the construction of the electronic technology experimental courses adapted to the
development of the “new engineering”. The proposed teaching reform can further improve the quality and
effect of the experimental teaching and improve the students’ capability of solving the practical
engineering problems, teamwork, technical communication and independent innovation, which explores a
new way of the deep chemical engineering experimental teaching reform based on the concept of the “new
engineering”.
This study aims to develop and determine the feasibility of E-Module learning media in Electromechanical Work Basic Subjects. This research is a development research using ADDIE model. The product developed is emodule learning media on subjects in Electromechanical Basic Work. Data collection is done by means of observation, interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive analysis. This research was conducted on 128 students of 10th grade Department Electrical Installation Engineering in Vocational High School in Serang, Banten. The results of the research are Media validation is very feasible with a percentage of 95.3%. Material validation is very feasible with a percentage of 97.9%. The results of the questionnaire evaluation data of small group trials get an average percentage value of 91.7% and in the very feasible category. The results of the assessment in the large group trial data questionnaire received very decent results with a percentage of 92.4%. The results of the exercises carried out an average value of 92.1 before using learning media the average value obtained by students 80.5. The results of the evaluation scores get an average value of 88.5. The e-module learning media in Electromechanical Basic Work subjects can facilitate students in the learning process and facilitate the teacher in teaching.
