For someone who has been exploring the emerging fiduciary challenges of diversity and inclusivity to financial lines, the opportunity to outline my thoughts is serendipitous. My exploration of this topic intensified 10 years ago as I got onboard with the CII’s Diversity Action Group, which considered how the case for diversity could be applied beyond gender alone.

Generations: A Perspective to Employee Engagementsbasu_71
Abstract:
Employee Engagement is the key to the talent management in Indian IT-BPO Industry. However the Challenge is to factor in the diversity in the work force to ensure success of the engagement model.
Generational theory or the concept of generations helps with one such lens which makes it possible to find cohort groups within the work force and brings in the flexibility of segmentation.
• Generation is defined as people born in a certain period of time in history, coming of age together as a group experiencing same historical events during their child hood and teen age, forming a cohort having same set of values & basis that world view
• Generations share an ‘age location’ in the history. They witness key historical events and social trends in the same phase of their life
• Members of a particular generation are shaped in a lasting ways by the eras they witness in childhood and as young adults and basis that they develop and share certain common beliefs and behaviours.
• As aware of the experience and traits they have in common with their peers, they develop a sense of common perceived membership in terms of generation.
• Though the concept of defining & identifying generations have its root in the West, applying the same definitions, 5 existing generations in India can be contextualized and defined as well.
Generational theory helps providing an effective lens for employee segmentation to design more effective employee engagement model. This also makes eminent the reality that there is diversity in our work force and we need to manage this diversity effectively.
In a composite culture like India, each generation cohort has its own separate but overlapping regional, religious & linguistic cultures which are respected by and interact with their shared culture. This also needs to be factored in while designing any employee engagement model.

Yogyakarta.

We want to apply celebrations as transformative energetics of cultures via soft power diplomacy for the people. We believe that once we connect ourselves at the energetic level; especially via celebrations, the pinnacle of high consciousness, we can shift our perceptions understandings; therefore connects at a different level decisions making. This research may possibly inspire cultures away from the current logical linear patterns that tends to create separations and deeper into the emotional intelligence that naturally welcome possibilities that it is easy to do and simple to share towards a more sustainable world.

Wow Bali is an internationally recognized program on regenerative sustainable development that started in 2012 in Bali, Indonesia. WOW Bali Co-founder and Creative Director Hai Dai Nguyen developed the Sustainable Dynamics Framework based on his case studies of grassroots sustainable community-based ecotourism best practices in Bali, Indonesia since 2008. “Sustainable Dynamics” are the forces and properties that enable a community to coexist and operate interdependently.
WOW Bali program and projects are sustained through mutualism and creative economics with its partners, allowing for the regeneration of new initiatives. The program used to operate under the Yayasan Tri Hita Karana Bali, an organization founded on the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana—the core of the Balinese belief system, which traces the “causes of goodness” on a harmonious relationship between God, people, and nature. Tri Hita Karana Bali exists to educate both adults and children about organic farming practices. Through its various projects and workshops, it is able to sustain its advocacy towards preserving the Bali culture and raise environmental awareness through the principles of permaculture.
In 2015, after three years of developing sustainable local initiatives, WOW Bali evolved from being a program into its very own Yayasan Global Banjar Internasional with the support of its long-term local partners.
6th International Conference Multidisciplinary ResearchHai Dai
WOW Bali, project of Global Banjar International Yayasan here in Indonesia, has been selected as one of the TOP multidisciplinary research for its good governance in achieving human development. ABSTRACT: Communities respond to sustainable development in diverse ways. Using local wisdom and resources, and accessing global networks, community members work together to sustain their economic and social well-being and regenerate their natural ecosystems. The Sustainable Dynamics Model captures the processes with which interdependent actors and stakeholders leverage each other’s forces and capabilities to achieve their visions of a sustainable community. The study aimed to introduce and de ne the Sustainable Dynamics Model emanated from an observational case study of a sustainable community-based ecotourism project through the Asian Productivity Organization Workshop on Agrotourism Development and Marketing in Bali, Indonesia. Later on, it evolved into interdisciplinary action research seeking to integrate sustainability solutions initiated by various stakeholders to the local community’s vision of a global banjar (community). Focus group discussion and workshops, interviews and case studies propelled the gathering of information on the processes of implementing these solutions from local and international stakeholders. The main lesson that emerged from these local initiatives is that achieving social, economic and ecological balance within the community depends on the dynamics of the actors and stakeholders participating in the collaboration. Developing a sustainable community requires human-level (self) transformation: personal wellness and creative autonomy leading towards the creation of opportunities for social, economic, and environmental transformation
