REFRASPRAY® is a refractory con-
crete that can be applied (trowel or
spray) in a hot or cold plant. This
enables intermediate repairs to be
carried out quickly, without having
to let the plant cool down.
For customers, this means consid-
erable savings in time and material,
increased safety, and lower energy
losses.
The challenge:
For conventional hot or cold repairs,
e.g. on casting ladles and covers, a
time of roughly one day is required,
plus about 1 to 1,2 tons of repair
material.
The solution:
We have developed a monolithic
line of products that cuts the repair
times and improves the working
conditions: REFRASPRAY®.

The product range
The REFRASPRAY® product range is
based on four primary raw materials:
• Andalusite
• Corundum
• Tabular alumina
• Fireclay
REFRASPRAY® products are cement-free,
pumpable refractory concretes that are
mixed with about 25% water.
4. Simple application
Another advantage of REFRASPRAY®
is its simple application. For spray
­application, a peristaltic pump is used.
For trowel application, only a mixer is
needed.
1. Energy saving
REFRASPRAY® makes intermediate
repairs possible, without the need to let
the plant cool down first. For the customer,
this results in up to 30% lower energy
­consumption.
2. Time saving
REFRASPRAY® enables the repair
time to be cut from a whole working
day to less than 2 hours.
3. Plant availability
With REFRASPRAY®, plant availability is
considerably increased. Plant productivity
is increased lastingly due to fewer down-
times for repairs.
