1. Reflection about the text Words: Native and Borrowed
To work on my e-portfolio I selected the text called Words: Native and Borrowed from the
third unit. I felt that its information was really important and relevant to the subject we had
been seen in classes. This text presented the Ideas of the origins of the words, the different
periods of time of the English language and how it has developed till nowadays. It also
presents the different branches of the language with their location around the world. The text
briefly explained the different events that helped the development of the English Language,
taking into account the different invasions of the British isles the different cultures involved .
In my opinion, this text has covered important information that we had seen in classes and
has complemented it. It is important to know the origins of the words, and more important the
way in which the language has grown till nowadays, especially because it`s important not only
to know the language but also its origin and all the factors that have been involved in it.
