It is my pleasure to write this letter supporting the application of Mr. Mathew Raska for the
open position. I have known the applicant in a professional capacity for over one year.
Mr. Raska worked as a grader for two undergraduate classes that I taught: Mechanics of
Materials (ME 3120) in spring 2016 and System Dynamics (ME 3210) in summer 2016. He
also gave a lecture to the System Dynamics class while he was working as a grader. Matt also
helped me with proctoring the exams for those courses. During my interaction with him, I
found Matt very brilliant, dedicated, and hard-working. He has an in-depth knowledge of his
subjects and a potential learn more. He is very self-motivated and enthusiastic about acquiring
new knowledge.
Mr. Raska is one of the few graduate students I have met in my nearly three and a half year
career at WSU who show tremendous enthusiasm and excitement in learning new engineering
topics and applying his knowledge in solving critical engineering problems. I strongly
