God tells the prophet Hosea to marry Gomer, a promiscuous woman, as an object lesson representing Israel's unfaithfulness to God. Hosea has three children with Gomer - Jezreel, Lo-Ruhamah, and Lo-Ammi, whose names symbolize God's punishment and rejection of Israel. However, God also promises eventual redemption and restoration for Israel as his people once more. The story depicts God's love for Israel despite their unfaithfulness, just as Hosea continues to love Gomer despite her adultery.

Story Of Christmas - Birth of Jesus in Art cartoons
This is the lesson exposition for year 1 & 2. For Year 3 I used the elves song from British council.

Three widows in a foreign land and little hope, but there was hope. In the book of Ruth, those under the curse of the law died, namely Naomi’s husband and sons. Ruth, apart from the law has the circumcised heart. Jew and Gentile alike blessed and saved as ‘God visits His people’ at Bethlehem. In a surprise twist at the end, Naomi’s redeemer was a baby of Bethlehem (pointing to a greater redeemer).
The Truth of Ruth includes some of the many pictures of redemption found in Ruth
Some images include:
- death under the law (of Naomi's husband and sons)
- salvation apart from the law
- a cirumcised heart of a gentile, Ruth
- God visiting his people at Bethlehem
- a prodigal return to God and acceptance of Naomi
- a kinsman redeemer in Boaz
- from no home to a home
- from barren to a great posterity
- a greater redemption in the baby of Ruth, Obed ( the servant a name used of the coming Messiah)
- great grandmother of King David
- and in the line of the Messiah, Jesus
It may seem contrary to hear one of the most prolific accounts of
Jewish History, Passover, from a non-Jew. But since the story is so
profound and relevant, I hope you will at least hear me out.
Especially since my story is true.

An unlikely marriage between a prophet and an unfaithful wife
and the first of the ‘minor’ prophets
Hosea and Gomer are a picture of grace, a picture of God's mercy board Israel and God's mercy toward the church
This was for the ETB SS lesson of Dec. 2, on Hosea chapters 1-3. (Sorry it's late, but the Christmas mail was slow :>)! God sets up an awesome object lesson in Hosea's life, relating to Israel's unfaithfulness to him (idolatry, adultery, you-name-it) and how faithfully He loves them despite of it all. It's interesting to see how God uses and chooses names to show what's going on in the culture that claims to -- but refuses to -- be faithful to Him. The parallels with our modern American "Christendom" are many -- may we not hesitate to seek Him and apply these lessons into our own lives!
A Biblico-Theological Approach to Hosea 1:2-9 and 3:1-5 on the Judgment and M...inventionjournals
Hosea, the prophet of God, was instructed by God to symbolically prophesy to the erring people of Israel on the impending devastation awaiting them, if they did not return to him (God). The stages of this prophecy are aptly represented in the marriage of Hosea to an adulterous woman, Gomer. Thus, God, represented by Hosea, had a covenant with Israel but the latter left him for other gods, entrusting their care and protection into the hands of other nations. Enraged by this, God prophesied through Hosea, the punishment meant for Israel for her intransigence and also his mercy on them, if they returned to him. God’s judgment is not exclusive of his mercy. The above stated prophecy of Hosea to Israel is, in this write-up, situated in the Nigerian context especially, in the Nigerian tribal issues which are dragging the progress of the country to the mud. Thus, recognizing the method of analogia limpit,1 this write-up tries to represent the Hosea-Gomer event in Nigeria-tribes event and happenstances wherein Nigeria marries the three major tribes in dispute, whose ideological reconciliation with Nigeria (or the spirit of mother Africa) would earn the country a greater favour from God than the present malediction ravaging it.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…
