homeowners in St. Charles Parish. For more
information about how millages are calculated, visit
scpparksandrec.com.
With this millage, the parish would be able to continue
to provide a high quality Parks and Recreation
Department.
WITHOUT THE MILLAGE...
Funding for the Department of Parks and Recreation
would cease to exist by 2018; eliminating all of the
programs aimed at youth, adult, senior and special
needs residents and the maintenance of the 52 parish
parks.
The department is currently supported by a 3.02 mill
property tax levy and supplemental funds from the
general fund budget.
ABOUTTHE RENEWAL
Recreation
The Parks and Recreation Department oversees the maintenance
of 320 acres of parks at 52 locations in St. Charles Parish which
includes:
• Boat launches
• Multi-use paths
• Levee bike paths
• The Ormond Spray Park
• The Edward A. Dufresne Community Center
