8. TALK TO GOD FIRST

9. ALWAYS TAKE INITIATIVE
Conflict resolution requires
initiative from both parties.
Do not delay because it
deepens resentment and
makes worse.
“For resentment kills the
foolish man, and jealousy
kills the simple.” ( Job. 5:2)

10. SHOW EMPHATY
Use your ears more than
mouth. Listen to people’s
feelings.
St. Paul advised “Look out for
another's interest, not just for
your own.” (Philippians 2:4)
“We must bear the burden of
being considerate of the doubts
and fears of others.” (Romans
15:2)

11. CONFESS YOUR PART OF THE CONFLICT
Accept, admit, and ask
forgiveness. Lower your Pride!
“First git rid of the log from your
own eye; then perhaps you will
see well enough to deal with speck
in your friend’s eye.” (Mat. 7:5)
Ask a third party to help evaluate
your actions. Question for
Reflection (Am I the problem or
am I being unrealistic, insensitive
or too sensitive?.)

12. ATTACK THE PROBLEM, NOT THE PERSON

you're focused on blaming
each other!

13. COOPERATE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

14. EMPHASIZE RECONCILIATION OVER RESOLUTION
Reconciliation focuses on the
relationship, while resolution
focuses on the problem.
We can build relationships even if
we can't resolve our differences.
God wants unity, not conformity,
and we may walk together even if
we disagree on some issues.
When one focuses reconciliation,
the problem loses significance and
often becomes irrelevant.
