Reason for Industrial in-Efficiency.pdf
1. In-efficiency of industrial production (local) in
Pakistan
It is observed that local Pakistani industries showing low productivity and use its
resources in an in-efficient manner, after 20 years working in such environment I have
concluded that following are the key points that cause in-efficiency in local Pakistani
industries.
1. Lack of training
2. Physical and mantle health
3. Working environment
4. In-justice
5. Job Security
6. Linguistic, community and religious grouping
7. Poor education system
8. Political interference
9. Fake degree
10. Weak Human resource management
1. Lack of Training
In most of the local industry management not realize that training make their employ more
effective and smarter for productivity, industrialist just want to save money and they have no
budget for training, in-efficient produce less and create waste more which is cause of ultimate
loss.
2. Physical and Mantle Health
Due to economic situation and less government food control most of poor people unable take
balance diet and also having social problem so the labor cannot concentrate their work
effectively and cause loss of productivity.
3. Working Environment
In local industries the working environment is very poor, e.g. poor ventilation in working area, no
environmental control system, and poor quality drinking water, less hinge food, very poor
sanitation, and cause worker less motivated.
2. 4. In-Justice
This is very common and great cause of de-motivation of labor and staff both, reward and
appreciation not given on merit basis, awarded on own choice of authority, even some
organization ignored totally.
5. Job Security
No job security provided in local Pakistani industry also some security like social security, eobi,
medical and accidental security not exist, cause less interest in work of staff and labor.
Labor department also taking bribes and ignore labor rights, most of the industry source out labor
(contract out), contactor fire any time without reason.
6. Linguistic, community and religious grouping
In industrial environment it is observed that there are some linguistic, communal and religious
grouping (e.g. Punjabi,Pakhtoon,Sindhi, Shia,Ismaili and Memon community support their own
people without considering merit) cause hiring low skill and un-efficient staffing, such people
not willing to work and due support no one can be made hard worker.
7. Poor education System
Our education system works without vision and objectives, mostly the curriculum not designed
as per industrial need and technology they just give formal education, so appropriate trade staff
if rare, this is one of the reason of poor engineering and product development and ultimately
productivity suffered.
8. Political Interference
Political involvement during hiring may lead to hire less skilled and poor merit people, and due
their political affiliation these people are less productive.
9. Fake degree Holder
It is observed that people obtain job on FAKE documentation/degree, recently mater also
highlighted by Supreme Court of Pakistan and PEC etc. these fake degree holder basically don’t
have appropriate skill, knowledge and qualification but occupying higher position, they are not
capable to deliver and also create hurdle for real professionals make them de-motivated and
ultimately industry suffered.
10. Weak human resource management
Human resource department mostly not exist and where exist they cannot practice principles
and work under influence of poor thinking “seth”, in most industries labor paying salary less than
government decided e.g present minimum salary is Rs. 17500 per month but most of the industry
is paying Rs. 13000 per month but government does not taking attention also the human
resource department and HR professionals not raising voice for this injustice, this is one of the
big reason for demotivation and ultimately cause in-efficiency.
