Positive self-esteem helps people to feel good about themselves and gives them confidence to do things and confront social challenges. Positive self-esteem is improved by certain factors including increased physical activity. This can be utilized in the university age group, especially when considering medical and health sciences colleges where higher stress levels are recorded. Aim: To assess the relationship between physical activity and self-esteem among medical and health sciences students. Methods: an online questionnaire-based cross sectional study involved 198 students from RAK Medical and Health Sciences University was conducted to identify the level of physical activity and self-esteem score. Results were tabulated and analyzed using SPSS. Results: there was significant positive correlation between physical activity and self-esteem (r = 0.604). However, the correlation was higher for female students with no significant difference. Correlation among colleges did not show significant differences. null.pptx

Aim: To assess the relationship between physical activity and academic performance among medical and health sciences students. Methods: an online questionnaire-based cross sectional study involved 198 students from RAK Medical and Health Sciences University was conducted to identify the level of physical activity and academic performance. This report proposes moving from Oklahoma's current A-F school grading system to a next generation accountability system called the Educational Quality and Improvement Profile (EQuIP). EQuIP is intended to better support the state's goal of ensuring all students are college and career ready by providing a more comprehensive and transparent assessment of school performance. EQuIP would report not just student outcome data but also meaningful information about school resources and processes that impact student achievement to help schools drive their own continuous improvement efforts. The report finds limitations in the current A-F system and outlines key principles and a two-stage framework for next generation accountability that places greater emphasis on formative feedback to inform school-level decision making.

Animals Amp Society Courses A Growing Trend In Post-Secondary Education
This document summarizes the results of a survey of Animals & Society courses offered at post-secondary institutions in the United States and Canada. It finds that the number of such courses has increased significantly since the last survey in 1983, with 89 courses currently known across a wide range of academic fields. The majority of courses are entirely devoted to animal issues. An estimated 5,000 students now take these courses each year, representing unprecedented availability though still sporadic. The growth of these courses reflects increasing societal concern for animal welfare and rights.

This study compared measures of body mass index (BMI), skinfold thickness, and waist circumference to assess disease risk in high school male athletes and non-athletes. 128 male students aged 15-18 from two high schools participated, with 78 identifying as athletes in sports like football, basketball, etc. and 50 non-athletes. BMI, skinfold thickness, and waist circumference were measured and used to categorize disease risk. Results found no significant differences between athletes and non-athletes. BMI was strongly associated with both percent body fat and waist circumference equally for athletes and non-athletes. While BMI can predict disease risk, combining BMI with other measures may provide a more accurate risk classification, especially for athletes.Similar to Rankings_2007.09 (20)
