The Ramaphunye Charity Organisation hosted a sports and carwash day to raise donations of clothes, food, and other supplies for orphanages. Over 500 people attended the event, which featured tennis, cycling, netball, aerobics, and other sports. Donations were collected and will be given to orphanages. The event was well-organized by a committee and various stakeholders, and it achieved its goals of promoting charity, health, and community.

OVERVIEW OF THE EVENT
The Ramaphunye Charity Organisation in association with Ward 35 SRAC had hosted the
Ramaphunye Charity Sports and Carwash Day 2015, in partnership with the Speak Easy Salon and
Grill

The Ward councillor with some members of the Organising Committee and attendee
The objectives of the Ramaphunye Charity Organisation Sports and Carwash Day:
- The major intent of the event was to make donation of clothes, non-perishable goods,
sanitary towels and blankets. The children who are marked to attend the after school
program at Sinqobile Primary School are beneficiaries of the non-perishable food.
Clothes will be donated to Phumlani Orphanage that is adopted by RCO.
- To use sports as the tool to raise awareness of charity and humanity.
- To teach the people the importance nation building, healthy lifestyle and social cohesion
and interaction through mass mobilization.
- To revive the sport of Aerobics, Cycling, Tennis and Netball.
- To show our kids that disable people can play sports just like anybody else and they
need to be treated as such, not to be isolated.
- To promote our business entities through sponsoring sports activities.

Athletes Health and Safety
There were no major injuries incurred. There was an athlete shoulder dislocation which was taken
care of.
No criminal activity was reported, except that there were lost and found items found upon cleaning
of the facility.
Health and Social Activities
Comedy – During the lunch session we had comedy by ……… that kept the audience entertained.
Love Life -The event was brazed with the presence of Love Life Ground Breakers who engaged young
people with social engagements, group games and dance completion.
FPD – the mobile health testing centre catered for the volunteers who were interested in knowing
their health status.
