Satellite radio later launched, gaining subscribers and moving listeners from AM/FM radio. One station, KISW in Seattle, was able to retain its listeners after Howard Stern moved his popular morning radio show to satellite radio in 2006 through the use of digital communication tools like their website, blogs, vlogs, podcasts and chat to engage fans.

Chart Show TV is a British music television channel owned by Sony Pictures that airs various music charts and was launched in 2002. Starz TV, also owned by Sony Pictures, is a digital satellite TV channel launched in 2005 that broadcasts a wide variety of popular music videos and engages viewers through interactive texting.
