Profile
A highly self-motivated, enthusiastic and reliable individual who is currently employed as the Group
Marketing Manager for Lake District Estates. I am currently responsible for a small team, setting out key
objectives to align marketing strategy, obtain funding for activity and action plans, setting out objectives
within the business plans in correlation with Lake District Estates branding and the other businesses
within its portfolio. Educated and well spoken, I possess good communication and negotiating skills
developed through contact with clients, employees, associate businesses and the media at all levels. My
sound practical knowledge spans a broad spectrum of disciplines within the funding application
processes, business planning, marketing, e-commerce and digital marketing strategy, retail,
environmental and wholesale/manufacturing industries.
Experience
Lake District Estates, Kendal January 2011 – present
Group Marketing Manager
Key responsibilities involve co-ordinating and delivering all online and offline marketing activities for
Lake District Estates, Ullswater “Steamers” and Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway. Application I am also
the accessibility and environmental champion for the businesses, organise training courses within the
Group and co-ordinate accreditation visits with Visit England and Green Tourism Business Schemes.
Main responsibilities within this role include:
Leading the marketing team and communicating the key objectives of the business plan throughout
Lake District Estates to relevant personnel to ensure all marketing and commercial activities are
effective, focussed, realistic and understood.
Co-ordinate and deliver all online and offline marketing activities for the Visitor attractions and Lake
District Estates. To construct, revise and monitor marketing plans utilising analytical tools and
measurement KPI.
To develop and grow the businesses with innovative commercial concepts and ideas. I have been
responsible for implementing the online transition to instil platforms for sales and social engagement
activity including e-commerce expertise.
Assist with the development of capital and revenue projects, investigate new product and potential
market growth opportunities.
Set out the branding guidelines and communicated the new focus branding proposal for Lake District
Estates to the Board of Directors.
Work with and apply for local and European funding bodies, identifying and creating new business
growth opportunities. Experienced and successful applications with funding programmes such as
Heritage Lottery, F.L.A.G, UKTI, LEP, LEADER, ESIF, See More and local community match funds
Development of the environmental, accessibility and sustainability business plan and setting out key
objectives for the Group with short to long term goals to maintain focus and alignment.
To work with senior managers and report to the board of Directors to provide an improved, co-ordinated
visitor experience and drive growth with business development opportunities both in the UK and
overseas markets.
To deliver/measure all digital marketing activities and strengthen customer relationship management
databases, using google analytics, social media platforms, web management systems, e-newsletters,
and online donation schemes, use of data protection and understanding of legal legislation.
Nominated chair for the reformation of the Western Lake District board, working with local business
partners to develop and business and marketing plans.
Develop new programmed itineraries, events, product development, prepare award and environmental
audits.
Work with local, national and international business partners to maximise market penetration and
increase brand awareness in the domestic and overseas markets.
Set out the marketing budgets and monitor expenditure and effectiveness annually.
Organise and run internal training programmes for social media, online systems, access, environmental
and international customer training.
Work with PR/Media agencies and UK/International media to maximise and execute successful PR
campaigns for the Group to increase brand awareness.
