Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali poet and writer born in 1861 in Kolkata who wrote songs that are popular in India and Bangladesh. He won the 1913 Nobel Prize in Literature and was educated at St. Xavier's Collegiate School and the universities of Calcutta and London.
