Quill is a platform for free literacy apps. We currently feature three apps that teach writing, grammar, and proofreading to students. Using the Quill platform, app developers can launch their own apps, and teachers can view student progress on a live dashboard. Quill is a nonprofit, open source organization, and over 100 educators and developers have contributed to its success. Quill was launched in September 2014, and as of April 2015 it is being used by 70,000 students nationwide.

9. LONG TERM STRATEGY
Quill will continue adding 3 - 5 high quality apps each year,
focusing on new areas such as typing and essay writing.
Our initial focus is students in grades 4 - 8, and our future
goal is to develop materials for English Language Learners,
high school students, and university students.
Ultimately, we will derive most of our revenue from sales,
and subsidize new initiatives through philanthropic support.
