14. Large Hospital- based PR programs:
 Cost to run a PR program:
 Space-often shared with Physical Therapy or cardiac rehab
 Oxygen tanks
 Staff- 1 RT or staff per 4 patients , 3 days a week
 Coordinator – intake, staffing, candidate review, etc.
 Studies show hospital based PR programs are NOT profitable, EVEN though Pulmonary
Rehab is proven to lower readmissions, a federal mandate .
 Skip the space issues and the staff issues- have the patient do it themselves.
 Motivation- is also a factor in live programs.
