2. In a nutshell….
I created an online program for people with COPD, Asthma,
Emphysema, and other breathing issues.
Many people cannot make it to a formal hospital-based
Pulmonary Rehab program due to transportation, co-pays,
still working, or programs are full.
3. Problem:13 Million people have COPD.
No program close to the patient
No access to reliable health information
Internet is recycled articles
Current solutions:
Most formal PR programs take 6-8 people for 6-8 weeks.
Most insurance allows ONE time through a program, if they can find one.
GP’s and internists try and manage these patients
This is not enough!
4. Opportunity :
Most COPD patients are in their 70’s.
This demographic is increasingly online
Many are at their wit’s end trying to get help from Medicare
and their doctors, and answers from any reliable source.
Pulmonary Rehab has been proven to improve the Quality of
Life and to decrease hospital admissions in patients with
COPD
5. Why COPD Success is the solution
One stop shop for reliable trusted professional information
Ability to view and review the materials any time of day or
night, as often as they wish
Lifetime membership
No excuses!
6. The COPD Success Team
Leah Ritz, Website Coordinator

7. The COPD Success Team wish list:
Spanish Translator
Marketer
Advertising wiz
Board Members and advisors
Doctor supporter – for the Hangouts, and the private FB chat
Respiratory Therapists – for the Google hangouts and FB
chats
8. Market Fit and competition
COPD Foundation – info is free. But fragmented
NIH – info is free- but too much and not in order, little
direction
Google “COPD” you get Pharmacy sites
Then they get targeted with stupid stuff: “Ask
your doctor about….”
Then they go on Facebook to ask their friends
9. The COPD Success advantage
All information in one place
All learning modules in order, step by step
Private Facebook group for questions to professionals only
Non-internet users that do use E mail can go with “30 Days to
Breathing Easier“ program, videos delivered directly to inbox, no
login required.
Monthly Google Hangouts to encourage continuation of program
The program is already written and uploaded
and LIVE
10. Revenue model
Internet banner ads, margin ads
Click on ad, opt in, they have option to pay and start
immediately, or, they receive CRM e mails encouraging them
to join
$697 and $79 price points
As an affiliate marketer, clients will be occasionally marketed
to with offers for healthy living products such as non GMO
foods, organic items, positive thinking and meditation CD’s,
towels that clean with water only, no chemicals.
Online store page for products commonly used by lung
patients
11. Expense Model
Ads- Facebook, Google, banner ads on sites
CRM
Web Hosting
Direct Mail Mailing Lists: $1000 for 1500 names. Tricky due to HIPAA
Flyers and Rack cards , business cards
Postage
Travel to conferences
Tables at conferences /tradeshows
Banners, tablecloths, pens,
Office Space
VA for customer service
Social Media manager
Pay Pal and shopping cart
12. Financial Projections
$679 x 1000 users = $679000 per year.
PLUS
$79 x x users
And
$37 webinar for parents of kids with Asthma
13. Exit strategy
Sell the site to Pharmaceutical company, IPA, Health /Medical
group with large COPD population and no viable PR program
[Let’s talk about that - For example: Healthcare giant Kaiser
Permanente. . .
14. Large Hospital- based PR programs:
Cost to run a PR program:
Space-often shared with Physical Therapy or cardiac rehab
Oxygen tanks
Staff- 1 RT or staff per 4 patients , 3 days a week
Coordinator – intake, staffing, candidate review, etc.
Studies show hospital based PR programs are NOT profitable, EVEN though Pulmonary
Rehab is proven to lower readmissions, a federal mandate .
Skip the space issues and the staff issues- have the patient do it themselves.
Motivation- is also a factor in live programs.
The DOCTOR will be the cattle prod, “did you complete the COPD Success program
yet?”
