After the feedback I received for my second draft, I moved the barcode
which seemed to look better. I also added a flash box with information
about a festival guide, and added some more cover lines.

6. Draft 3
For my final draft, I darkened the tone of
the red – which looked much better and
resembled the colour I had seen in other
rock magazines more effectively. I also
changed the colour of the footer as I was
still receiving negative feedback and too
much white ruined the effect of the black/
red. After swapping around the cover lines
and flash box, and changing the fonts a
little, it was all much clearer to read.

8. When drafting my contents page my
feedback included these quotes:

I tried to keep my contents page fairly simple to appeal to my older audience
without having it look bare. I also continued the colour scheme front cover as
to fit in with the conventions of most magazines.

After creating the first draft of my double page spread, my audience generally
liked the main image and the title, but weren’t as keen on the layout of the font
in the pull quote on the left page.

After adding the article to the DPS, I kept the colour scheme as red and black
(fitting the conventions of a rock magazine,) and removed the title on the left page
– which they seemed to prefer.

12. Final Draft
In my final draft I moved over the pull quote/ title to make it look less bare, as well as
changing a few of the colours to create the same effect.
