This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the

FilmFilm The film that we had created which was called โThe Possessionโ link into my research as I had found out that most successful horror movies are based around the genre of psychological or has some sort of possession and demonic feature. Eg; The Conjuring. By watching this film right at the beginning of my research journey, I found out that using a character who is supposed to be innocent who ends up being possessed is an effective way of enticing the audience, and getting them scared.
- 3. In this scene of the film, we decided to add in newspaper articles as in most of the horror films that had been watched, there was always some sort of object that gives a clue to what is happening, or even gets the audience questioning what the significance of that certain object is. In this case, we used newspaper articles. (Play from 0.34) Here is an example from The Conjuring. 3am is the devilโs hour, therefore when it hits 3am, strange things begin to happen. This is some sort of clue that there is something not right with the house.
- 4. At first, this innocent teenager is dared to go into a house by his friends. However, this is the exact same character who is possessed. We decided to use an innocent person who getโs possessed as most films show that also innocent people can get into deep trouble. No matter how brave, Innocent or young you are, you may still be targeted. Innocent and happy POSSESSED. (same girl)
- 5. Horror PosterHorror PosterMy horror poster consisted of using dark and gloomy colours. This was used as I was to use bright yellows, it wouldnโt have matched the film, and it would have given the wrong impression of the film. Red and black seems to be the most popular colours for a horror poster. When researching real existing horror posters, I could clearly see that all dark and dull colours were used. Only a minority of horror posters used bright colours. I decided to use the colour red mostly as in the film you can see blood, and I wanted to show that in the poster by using red. Also the connotation with red is evil, devil and blood. These posters were my inspiration while creating my own poster.
- 6. ReviewReview Creating my review was a little harder. I found this harder as most reviews on film are on websites such as IMDB or ROTTEN TOMATOES. However, I had found a horror film review but I was not keen on the layout. But I had got an idea of what a horror film review consisted of. Most of the reviews that I had researched were not of the horror genre, however it still gave me an idea of how I wanted my review to look like. Most reviews that I had seen had the plot summary and also pictures of the actual film. A lot of the film reviews had film spoilers.
- 7. Most horror films are based in a happy family home, where they have moved in and the house is lovely and big. However, we decided to challenge this and used a house that was in a โnormalโ neighbourhood and a house that already had signs of not to go in. This was challenged as the house in our film was not HUGE, it didnโt look old and scary, no one was living inside the house and also the house was on a road where it is always busy. Insidious Happy family, big house, new house. Our film โThe Possessionโ Police tape, a group of friends and not a big house for sale or been sold.
