Question 1
HOW DOES YOUR OPENING
SQUENCE MATCH THAT OF
REAL MOVIES ?
CINEMATOGRAPHY
 For the cinematography part of the film
we focused on using the camera the
capture the appropriate shots needed for
us to properly reflect the vision of the film
and the genre its self and you can see
that from the shots we have captured
and used.
Birds eye view shot
The use of the birds eye view shot suggests isolation and potential danger
which is the exact effect we were going for a it clearly reflects the thriller
aspect of the action thriller genre. also the fact that there is potential
danger suggest that there will some action which does also reflect the
action part of the action thriller genre.
Close up shot
 The close up shots also added to the reflection of thrill in our
film as the use of this close up links in the action reflection of
dominance as the gun symbolises power and the fear and
emotion of the actor in closer on her facial expression which
really link to the thrill element. When all combined together
you get the thrill from the emotion and potential death fact
which add so much action.
Low mid angles
 The use of the low mid angles really increase the
dominance of the character as the use of the angle
makes them look much bigger than everyone else
which really adds to the whole power element from
the action genre therefore making a clear link to it.
Mise en scène
 The Mise en scene we really tired to show
our films action and thriller representation.
Which thought mise en scene was found
to be really effective through what we
could really see the screen you could
define tell it was a actual action thriller.
Location
 The location we picked defiantly reflected the iconic thriller
genre as most films the places of the kidnapping or always in
quiets isolated areas which create an element of surprise and
fear which did create. And the place in which the of things of
rivals always end being in derelict and dark places away form
invading personal such as police and this what did also as you
can see from the pic below.
Props
 Do use of props in our film was very important as thing such as guns
and duffel bags help really reflect the action genre as through the
use of these props we build the stereotypes common used in action
films.
 Duffle bag usually connoting the exchange of something during
dangerous circumstances which is what happed in our film.
 Guns connoting power, warfare and conflict which is in most
action film and is ours.
Clothes
 The clothes worn link in very well towards the whole action spy
genre as most people in this genre are dress in quite
professional attire as they all work in official business e.g. James
bond M.I.5,mission impossible I.M.F. and we reflect this well in
the characters in our film as you can see below.
SOUND
 for the sound and audio section of the
film we use whole range of techniques
and methods that also match up to similar
techniques in real movies.
 music
for the music our music composer Trenay Watkins were we
took inspiration from the famous action thriller taken. Were by
we created piano scores and used them in similar way as they
do in taken. For example during the process of abduction in
the film like in taken we started with a low rhythmic score
before the abduction the during a small pause on interaction
and then it which to an high rhythmic beat post abduction.
 Dubbing
For dubbing we did extactly what they do simlilarly in common
action films and dub sound.we did this by complete stripping the
oringal audio from the recorded clips and adding our own more
dynamic and clearer sound.we got clearer dialect from our
actors by dubbing there voices in a music in a studio.we got
clearer motion noises such as running and body shuffling by
inviting the actor back again and asking them to recreate there
actions in the scene so that we could just focus the audio on the
actions.we got backround noses such as rain and trains passing in
the backround by leaveng the mic in the variouse location we
used and captured the sound. Doing all of this means that all the
audio that is the film is easer so hear and flows more as there is no
muffled sounds as there no long interfering with each other as
thing like random talking the background are removed.
 Sound effects
for the sound effect we used a various amount of method to
recreate Acton sounds such as a gunshot by using a apple
store application to recreate a gunshot sound which if I was to
compare this method to other movie method used in real
action films would say this method is unorthodox as most Foley
enigneers would use an object to recreate the sound of a gun
or by using a actual gun and record the sound of the gunshot
rather then using a pre-recorded gunshot sound.
Editing
For the editing part of the film we all worked along
side the editer mark kamara to induce edits that
would represent the film ethan steal as a common
iconic action spy thiller.
Fades
 The uses of fades in our film link to the
thller part of the genre as the use of the
editing technique suggest dark and
dangerous passing's such as an
abduction and post. The colour black also
connote dark and mysterious things which
link perfectly to the thiller genre.
Slow motion
 We did some this through the use of slow
motion as we used it in a scene in the movie
were by one of the Turkish thugs fires the gun
and use the slow motion effect at that point to
slow down the motion of the pull of the trigger
and the gun smoke firing out as the longer
length of motion allows the audience to see the
real symbolic power of the gun and the genre
we are tiring to reflect action. This effect is also
used in the famous action sci-fi thiller matrix
were by this effect use in the scene were by
Leo I being fired at with bullet and dogging
them. I believe they use this effect so show his
control over the situation and his dominance.
