Queen Elizabeth I was born in 1533 to King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. She became Queen of England in 1558 at age 25, reigning until her death in 1603 at age 69. As the daughter of Henry VIII, she was stripped of her princess title as a child after her mother Anne Boleyn was executed. She was well-educated and spoke multiple languages. Early in her reign, she had been imprisoned in the Tower of London by her half-sister Mary I, who saw her as a rival for the throne.
