Ace-Face is a character from the 1979 film Quadrophenia. He is initially presented as an ideal Mod that Jimmy looks up to. However, it is discovered that Ace-Face is actually a hotel bellboy in Brighton. The film begins with Jimmy crashing Ace-Face's scooter over a cliff. Ace-Face represents the Mod culture through his stylish clothing and scooter. He offers both Jimmy and a rocker a cigarette during a police encounter, showing unity among Mods. Ace-Face mocks a magistrate in court after being fined, cementing his representation as a wealthy quintessential Mod character.

2. Who is Ace-Face?
Ace face is a character from the 1979 film Quadrophenia, he is initially presented as an idealist Mod of the
time, he had the best looking bike and main character Jimmy wanted to be just like him and saw Ace Face as
an idol.
However, Jimmy discovers that Ace Face is a bellboy at a Brighton hotel. Jimmy steals Ace's scooter and
rides out to Beachy Head, where he rides perilously close to the cliff edge and finally crashes the scooter
over a cliff, which is where the film begins, with Jimmy walking back from the cliff top in the sunset back drop
creating a non-linear narrative.

3. Ace-face’s Representation
His relationship with Jimmy at first appears to be good, after the riot in Brighton,
Ace-Face offers Jimmy a cigarette when they are being taken away by the Police, he
also offers one of the rockers one too and proceeds to shut it on his hands
representing the rivalry between the mods and the rockers and also the union of the
mods as a culture.

4. Ace-face’s Representation
The first time we are introduced to Ace-Face is when Jimmy arrives in Brighton with
Steph, at first they admire his style which represents his character as being the
quintessential mod who almost defines the culture with his choice of clothing and his
symbol which is his scooter. This representation is continued into the court room after the
riot when he is summoned to pay a fine of £75 into which he mocks the magistrate by
offering to pay on the spot to the amusement of the other Mods. He is represented as a
very wealthy character, with the fine of £75 appearing to be nothing to him combined with
the expensive lifestyle complimenting his scooter and clothing.
