Here's what retail will look like by 2025, as retailers blend digital and physical in a new construct that enables a seamless, personalized, distinctive and sustainable shopping experience.
Digital Transformation in Offline and Online RetailDamola Taiwo
How digital technologies are transforming online and offline retail experiences. This paper explores how retails stores globally are now focusing on how all technologies can be used to create a holistic shopping experience for the customer.
Mobile phones and other devices have undoubtedly changed the way we communicate faster than any other societal advance in history. Today, more people own a cell phone than those that own a toothbrush, and nearly 75% of adults reported that they keep their mobile phone within 5 feet of themselves the majority of the time.
This has opened a wide range of opportunities for brands and businesses to converse with their customers, but many are still struggling to craft their messaging in a way that's attractive, engaging and non-invasive to these "untethered consumers.” Content strategists and marketers have their work cut out for them, but there are a few strategies you can use to reframe your perspective and take advantage of time, location and personalization to get and keep eyeballs.
• Apps aren't the only way to message your audience on mobile. You'll learn about 'The 4 Moments' and several ways you can use them to engage consumers at the right time, in the right place.
• Sometimes, getting personal can get creepy. Mistakes are judged particularly harshly in the digital, social and mobile realms; particularly when it comes to compliance with the law! You'll see examples of other's flops so you can avoid similar situations.
• And for some inspiration, you'll see award-winning, engaging mobile marketing campaigns, as well as simple, low-cost (and some free!) mobile marketing tactics you can start using today.
You can stop chasing after people with their noses in their screens and start getting THEM to follow YOU.
For years I have been told that with millennials it’s all about shopping online. It’s true that they do shop online, but that doesn’t mean that they have stopped shopping in bricks-and-mortar stores. In fact I have noticed that buying in bricks-and-mortar store seem to give them a very different emotional shopping experience. Most of the time they come home without having bought anything but still happy after a great time with friends. Sometimes, they come home with a less good feeling as many stores delivers at the best a neutral emotional experience.
So how can it be that they still enjoy bricks-and-mortar shopping?

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

1. QR Codes: Making the Holidays Easier
Posted by kelliwon on Dec 16, 2011 3:48:39 PM
Christmas is around the corner and as most people are spreading the Holiday cheer, I can't help
but hear the constant noise of "chuh-ching" ringing in my ear. Where else to hear that oh not so
lovely noise than from the Mecca of shopping: Macy's. I was going through Macy's shopping for
some gifts for the holidays when I remembered a commercial I saw promoting their QR Code.
Macy's has started these QR codes where you can scan them with your mobile phone and have
it link you directly to a particular destination - in this case, exclusive videos from designers
talking about their clothing line. When desperately in need for gift ideas, these QR codes will
help with knowing where to go inside the store, especially when the store is packed with hyenas
ready to pounce on their next potential present. I like to get in and get out of stores so
sometimes having Tommy Hilfiger himself telling me a great gift idea will quicken that process
and lead me directly to where I need to go while, at the same time, watching something
entertaining on my phone as I take the escalator up to the department.

Codes, Codes, Codes - they're everywhere and making life so much easier. For example, I will
be travelling this holiday season to Texas to spend some catching up time with a dear old friend.
Remember before when you went to the airport, you had to wait in that long line to check in,
pick up your boarding pass and line up at security? Now, I can simply do my check in online 24
hours beforehand and have codes emailed to my phone. This will allow me to pass the check in
line and go directly to the security line and boarding gate where they can verify my boarding
code on my mobile's screen. Yes, yes, I am sure this is all so old to you but what can I say? I
am easily amazed and probably won't get over this new development until I have grandkids and
tell them "back in my day before codes and mobile devices...".
2. Happy and Safe Holidays! See you in 2012!
Cheers,
Kellie
Coming Up
Look forward to more blog posts relating the two things I love: Technology and the Holidays.
Every month, I will focus on one holiday and share a neat way on how others can incorporate
technology to celebrate. There are so many different ways on how technology, and particularly
mobility, has made my holiday seasons easier and more fun so I thought, "Why not share?". My
next post will be for the month of January and I will be focusing on MLK Jr. Day.
