The document discusses the problem-solving and decision-making processes that the author has learned. It explains that problem-solving involves defining the problem, developing evaluation criteria, generating solutions, and choosing the best one. Decision-making involves identifying the decision needed, generating options, choosing, and reflecting on the results. The author learned that these processes are effective for finding solutions to problems and making good decisions, which will benefit them in the future.
2. I have learned a lot with this process. What I have
learned is that there is a process that helps guide one trying
to find a solution to a problem. The process is effective and
allows one to find feasible yet good solutions to problems.
The following lists the process to problem-solving:
Define the problem to see what exactly needs a solution, and
then examine/analyze the problem.
Develop a set of criteria that can evaluate the possible
solutions to the problem. The criteria will help determine
which is the best solution. This is like design specifications.
Come up with a variety of possible of solutions and evaluate
them to the criteria developed.
After, look at all of the evaluated and determine the best
solution.
3. Like the problem-solving process, there is also a process to
decision-making. The decision-making process is something that I have
learned and found to be helpful in making the right decisions. The
following is what I have learned the decision-making process is:
First, we have to look at the situation and see what needs a decision.
Then, one needs to come up with a number of possible decisions that
could be made.
After this, the person needs to make a decision depending on which is
the best in the situation.
Finally, after the decision is made, one needs to reflect on the decision
and see what were the results and what pros and cons there were.
This is what I have learned is the process to decision- making. I
have learned that this process is effective and helps me make the right
decisions. I have also learned that reflecting is helpful so that I can see if
the decision was the best or not.
4. Problem-Solving
Decision-Making
This picture kind of represents
decision-making. The figure in the
picture represent a person thinking
on which decision is the best out of
the number of decisions/paths to
take.
This picture represents a person
that is trying to solve a problem.
After defining and analyzing the
problem, the person can then try
and figure out the best way to solve
the problem.
5. I learned this process because it will benefit me in
the future. My problem was that many students don’t
realize how learning these processes will benefit them
in the future. Learning this process will help us in the
future be allowing us to effectively find solutions to
problems. For the rest of our lives we will find
problems that need solutions. Learning this process will
help us come up with the best solution. In this way, the
reason we learned this process is so that in the future we
are able to find effective solutions. This will benefit us.
6. Like the problem-solving process, the reason that
we learned the decision-making process is so that it will
help us execute good decisions and it will benefit us in
the future. Like problems, we will eventually find
decisions that we have to make. Sometimes we might be
under pressure when making the decisions. The reason
to learning this process is to help us make good
decisions effectively and calmly. In this way, the reason
to learning this process is to help us make great
decisions and that will benefit us in the future.
7. Decision-Making
Problem-Solving
This picture also represents
decision-making because it shows
how the figure has a number of
paths/decisions to go with, but the
results are a mystery. After
executing a decision the figure can
later reflect on the outcome of it.
This represent the problem-solving process
because after finding the best solution, the whole
situation with the problem can fall in to place like a
puzzle. In the end, the solution worked out and
helped fix the problem effectively. This was after
brainstorming, which was in the other picture.
8. Learning this process can be used so many times in the
future. As mentioned in the slides above, this process
can be used in the following ways:
To solve a problem in a work place
To solve a problem between friends
To solve a problem in a family (family problems)
These are just some ways that the problem-solving
process can be applied and used. We will encounter
problems as we grow up, and this process can be used to
solve the problems. As mentioned in the slides above,
this process will work to our benefit this way.
9. Like problems, we are going to face decisions that we have to make
later on in our lives. The following are some examples that the
decision-making process can be applied and use for:
Making a decision in a workplace or what you want to do when
you grow up
Making decisions between friends (ex. where to hang out)
Making a decision between what two jobs that has been offered to
you
These are just some of many decisions that we will encounter. In
this way the process of decision-making can be used to make these
decisions easily. As a whole, in the future, this process can be used
to make important decisions. As mentioned before, this is a benefit
that students get by learning this process; being able to make and
find good decisions.
