The IB Primary Years Programme acknowledges that experiences in early childhood lay the foundation for future learning. Research shows that development during this time in the physical, social, emotional, intellectual and aesthetic domains is significant but unique to each child. For many children, starting school also marks their first transition from home to new environments and relationships with other adults and peers. The PYP Early Years Programme aims to support this adjustment by encouraging secure relationships and providing a framework that allows children to actively inquire and become lifelong learners from an early age.
