Purpose To generate a personal example of what you learned and the process by which you learned it Instructions Initial Post (reply) Respond to the following prompt: Describe something you learned and how you learned it. Examples Rachelle's Initial Post Below I described three scenarios of learning to give you a variety of examples. You only need to provide one. I learned to do yoga by watching video tapes of yoga instructor Rodney Yee demonstrating the moves and poses and talking through them. I also attending yoga classes at my gym where the instructor demonstrated the moves and poses and talked through them. As I watched them, I attempted to imitate what they where doing and to make adjustments to my poses by listening to their verbal instructions. I learned to fear walking by the oleander bushes in front of a particular house on a street in my neighborhood. I was walking my puppy, who I was training to walk on leash. I was wearing black pants and I had liver treats in my pocket. As I was walking close to the oleander bushes in front of this particular house, a meat bee stung my thigh. Apparently, meat bees like black and liver (meat)! For weeks when I walked on that street when I got near to that house I would feel anxious and cross over to the other side of the street. I learned to put ear plugs in my ears when I got to the movies. I'm super sensitive to sounds I don't have control over (a condition known as misophonia). At theaters, the volume seems to be turned way up. I have left movie theaters feeling auditorily attacked-- overstimulated by the noise. Desperate to buffer the sound, I thought I'm going to see if ear plugs would allow me to lessen the volume. They did. Now I carry a pair of ear plugs in my purse so I have them when I'm at the movies..
