SPS Monaco 2017 - The Lay of the Land of Client-Side Development circa 2017Marc D Anderson
Are you dazzled by all the noises you hear about client-side development? Do the grunts and gulps leave you a little confused? In this session, we’ll talk about the types of things you can do with client-side development, how SharePoint can be used as a service (SPaaS?) and what the popular tool sets are. This are moving fast, so it's guaranteed that between writing this abstract and doing the session, things will have changed.
Whether you’re a server-side developer who wants to catch up with the new trends, a power user wanting to flex your muscles in new ways, or an end user who would like to speak more intelligently with IT, this session will provide useful foundation information as well as a guide to where your learning should progress to work with "modern" SharePoint.

Social media radar is must have in every modern newsroom and PR department. Monitoring not only online media publishers but also social media monitoring can bring to journalists a lot of fresh ideas for news. Sometimes it’s great chance to catch the scoop. Online marketing and public relations managers should also know if their brands, products and key managers’ decisions are discussed in good or bad context in social media.
Media monitoring on the daily basis is one of key elements of successful online reputation management. But how to be up-to-date with wide content stream on Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, thousands of blogs and discussion forums? Presentation “Social media radar” gives some ideas how to arrange the workflow around media monitoring and social media monitoring in the modern newsroom. It also brings examples of social media crisis in US, Poland and Ukraine.
Second part of the presentation explains what are News Point and News Point Social Media – useful tools for online media and social media monitoring. Some additional slides reflect SEO Friend – online content optimizer which helps journalists and bloggers to prepare relevant content for search engines. All three solutions were produced by Netsprint – Polish search experts company operating in 7 countries in Europe. Artur Karda, the author of the presentation “Social media radar”, is member of the Supervisory Board of Netsprint.
This presentation was prepared for Association of Independent Regional Publishers in Ukraine congress. The congress was placed in Kiev on 21 October 2011. Artur Karda was one of keynote speakers during congress of newspaper publishers in Kiev.

We all build different project sites during the years, and also used the content by query web part to lift up the different projects we was part of, but how can we achieve the same in Modern SharePoint.
In this session we will:
Use Hub sites as the home of our Projects,
Create a Project template with Site Design and Site Scripts,
Enable a flow to add some more magic.
Look at different web parts both from Microsoft and from the community to help us lift up our Project Sites.
Ensure it is is all security trimmed so that we don’t see more then we have access to see.
Really Cool!
And we will also make sure that our Projects are teamified so that we also can access them from Microsoft Teams, and with prepopulated content, so our Project Managers can start to work immediately So lets build the new Project Hub together.

The aim of the project is to create a multimedia digital archive as a tool to investigate the origins, evolution, and fortune of Orlando Furioso’s editorial format and its powerful influence, in figurative and editorial terms, on reception dynamics in the age of printing.

Pundit is an open source tool for semantic enrichment. It has been designed by the Italian software company Net7 as part of the DM2E Project, which is focused on building tools and communities that enable humanities researchers to work with manuscripts in the Linked Open Web, as well as within European projects mainly focused on Digital Humanities (SEMLIB - Semantic Digital Libraries, AGORA, ERC AdG 2011 Lookingatwords, ERC AdG 2009 EUROCORR) and thus used primary in the Humanities domain.
The session aims at illustrating Pundit main features and components (the client, feed, ask) as well as showing how it has been used by specific scholarly communities in Philosophy, History of Art, Philology and History of Thought domains.
Moreover, attendees will be practically introduced to Pundit through dedicated exercises thought to give them the first skills to produce semantic annotations on Digital Libraries and generic websites.
