There have been several major changes to the building. Firstly we have removed the turnstiles to create welcoming entrance area. Secondly, last year we introduced self-issue machines, allowing you to check out books yourself. Use these to save time and beat queues at the counter. They are located in the entrance area. Please ask a member of staff for help with using them. <number>
<number>
The building is split into zones: silent study, quiet study and group study rooms. Please observe the rules of the zone or move to another zone. Group study rooms can be booked at the counter for up to two hours each. If you want to work and socialise please go to the i-Learn Caf
For photocopying and printing you need to buy a chip card from the counter
Undergraduates can take out 12 items from the main collection plus 2 overnight loan items.<number>

These are term-time hours. During vacations we are open from 9-5 Monday to Friday. <number>
The Portal should display when you launch the Internet on-campus. We advise you to log in with your network ID on the left-hand side of the screen. The icons in the top-right corner link to various useful services such as your college email account, St Mary’s Online. Also the Library pages, which include the online library catalogue.<number>
Catalogue straightforward to use – just ask in the LRC if you have any difficulties. Good to note that you can view your own record – check return dates of books you have borrowed. Also renew books online and reserve items that are checked out to someone else.<number>
<number>
There are other computing facilities elsewhere on campus, for instance M1. These can be used when not booked for teaching. There are also pcs on the ground floor of the LRC and in the I-Learn Caf

You should have received a computer account registration form by post. If you did and have returned the form, your IT account should now be set up. If not, please…If you no longer have the form, again please go to the IT Helpdesk.Passwords expire every ?45 days? So be prepared to change them. It is much easier to do this on campus than remotely. Try to change your password a few days before it’s due, while you’re in college. You should also complete the password reset form on the Portal (follow links from the homepage) This will allow you to change your password by telephone. <number>
It is important to use College email as people such as lecturers will use this to communicate with you.<number>
Your lecturer should tell you if you need to use St Mary’s Online. It may contain useful material such as lecture notes, reading lists, module outlines and coursework details.<number>
You are advised to log on and check your modules as soon as possible. If you are enrolled on the wrong modules or you are missing modules, please go to Registry and complete a form.<number>
