This document provides a 22 question practice test for numerical reasoning. It begins with an introduction explaining that numerical reasoning questions assess logic and reasoning skills rather than specific math skills. The test includes number series, missing number, and word problem questions. After the test, the document advertises eBooks and products to help with psychometric tests which assess abilities for various jobs. It claims these resources can help maximize performance on tests in under two weeks.
Network security is enhanced through biometrics authentication which uses unique physical traits to verify user identity. Biometrics is more secure than passwords since traits cannot be forgotten, stolen, or easily copied. The document discusses common biometric traits like fingerprints, iris scans, and voice recognition. It explains how biometric systems work by enrolling traits during initial use then comparing submitted traits to stored information for authentication. Biometrics provides stronger security for networks and systems by using the human body as a verification method.
This document provides an overview of biometric authentication. It discusses how biometric authentication uses personal features like fingerprints, iris scans, or voice patterns rather than something you have or know. The document outlines the history of biometrics, requirements, enrollment processes, types of errors, example biometric devices, limitations of individual biometrics, and advantages of multimodal biometric systems that fuse multiple biometrics.

Problem Set 5
Due: Monday, November 30, 2015 (beginning of the class)
1
Instruction: The problem sets are designed to be difficult and very time-intensive, so plan ahead. The
problem sets consists of solving theoretical problems and analyzing real data. You may discuss the
questions with your classmates, but you are required to hand in your own independently written solutions,
do-files, and log-files. No late work will be accepted and I do NOT accept any electronic copy. All the
data necessary for the problem set is available under UBlearns.
Important: It is extremely important to write a clean well-commented program for transparency and
replication purposes. In any empirical work, you should always be able to reproduce your result from raw
data to support your claim.
What to hand in: Typed write-up answering the assigned questions and interpreting your findings, do-file,
and log-file (you MUST use Stata). For questions involving data analysis, you will NOT get any credit if
you do not provide a program code. You may NOT use Excel.
1. How are returns on common stocks in overseas markets related to returns in U.S. markets? Consider
measuring U.S. returns by the annual rate of returns on the Standard & Poor’s (S&P) 500 stock index

Numerical Reasoning—Practice Test 1
Informationisprovidedthatrequiresyoutointerpretitandthenapplytheappropriate
logic to answer the questions. In other words, you need to work out how to get
the answer rather than what calculations to apply. Sometimes the questions are
designed to approximate the type of reasoning required in the workplace.
The questions will often use number series questions which represent the most
popular type of numerical reasoning questions. Numerical reasoning questions are
very commonly used in graduate and managerial selection.
Numerical reasoning is an increasingly popular way of assessing candidates during
the job selection process. Many people who have been out of the education system
for a while or who don’t use maths on a day-to-day basis feel intimidated by these
types of test. The important thing to remember is that you don’t need to have studied
mathematics to a high level to do well in these tests. They are primarily tests of
reasoning ability and the math needed is invariably straightforward. Although you
may need to get back up to speed with percentages, ratios, proportions, fractions
and decimals.
You will usually be allowed to use a calculator for these types of question and
investing in one which can handle fractions and percentages is a good idea.
