Project SEARCH
program, a
collaborative, stra-
tegic partnership between
Quest, Inc. private em-
ployers, local school dis-
tricts and Vocational
Rehabilitation, supports
the transition of high
school students with devel-
opmental disabilities into
meaningful employ-
ment.
Project SEARCH Periodical
This edition’s intern of the month is
Crystal D! Crystal’s first rotation was in
Nutritional Services and she is now
doing her second rotation in Nursing
Administration. Crystal shows an
initiative to work, and a pride in the
work she does no matter where she is.
Over the last few month’s we’ve really
seen Crystal blossom and come out of
her shell both in class and out on the
floor. She is constantly trying to learn
and help others and these are only a few
of the reasons we chose to recognize her.
Congratulations Crystal keep up the
good work!

If you would like to host
an intern in your
department please
contact Allan Crosby,
We would love to see
our program grow!
In conjunction with our proud partners:
Our interns are
still considered
students which
means they
follow the School
Year Calendar.
Christmas break
begins December 16th and
ends January 4th. After the break
they will resume working in the
departments they were in before
break. Happy Holidays!
Owen’s deliveries for the
Pharmacy led to this great
photo in the OR!
I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.

What is the Day of Care? Florida Hospital gets their
employees involved in volunteer work for the Day of
Care and our interns are lucky enough to get to
participate as well. Last year our interns volunteered at
the Council on Aging, but this year our interns
volunteered at Help Now of Osceola, a domestic violence
shelter that helps victims of domestic violence establish
violence free living. While volunteering, our interns got
to organize and clean up the toys for the children staying
at the shelter, clean up their garden so they have a quiet
place to enjoy, and organize clothing donations for
residents that were not able to bring their own clothing
and belongings to the shelter. Click the link for a short
video on the Day of Care!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0w0DdI5CZAM
In class the interns are currently
working on financial skills in the
real world. We’re going over what
the minimum wage in Florida is,
and how many hours of work are
considered full time work. Teaching
them these lessons helps them
understand what their paycheck
will be able to cover in the future.
Aside from that they are also going
to learn about banking. In class
they will do examples of how to fill
out a check and how to deposit a
check.
The award goes to Supply Support for
this edition! Despite always being on
the move this department has done an
outstanding job of showing David and
Richard the ropes. They treat our in-
terns like a member of the team and
because of this they always leave that
department with a smile on their face.
Thanks for all your patience and all
that you do!
Some days we have fun and play charades.
23 to 22 was our closest game yet!
