hoping that school might

Question:
What season is it in this
story?
“Right There” Questions

for information directly
from the text, but require
you to put together “clues”
to prove your answer.
Prove It! Answer:
The season in this story is winter.
In the text it states, “she had to
put on her coat, scarf, and
mittens.” This suggests it is cold
outside. The text also says that
she stayed up all night, “hoping
school might be cancelled.” I
think this is because there was a
snow storm.
