Most respondents correctly identified the genre, understood the storyline, thought the 15 certificate was correct, and said they would watch the film. Feedback indicated needs for added music at the beginning and during titles, effects on flashback scenes, a longer runtime, and changes to fonts and titles. The filmmakers were pleased with the positive feedback and 4 out of 5 average rating, seeing potential to improve to a 5 with incorporating the audience's suggestions.

Conventions of psychological horror films
Psychological horror films focus more on disturbing the mind than showing graphic violence. They expose common human fears and vulnerabilities in a subtly unsettling way. Settings for these films are typically very normal and familiar places like houses, schools, and hospitals so audiences can relate to the characters' situations. Sounds used don't always match the on-screen action, increasing unease. Weapons in these films are usually supernatural or psychological tricks rather than physical objects, manipulating the mind to inflict fear. Characters who inflict horror often appear ordinary with nothing to obviously identify them as the source of evil until it's revealed.
Tricky shots
This document discusses several tricky shots planned for a film and the challenges of filming each one. Shot 7 involves jump cuts which are difficult to edit for continuity. We asked 8 people a series of questions after viewing a synopsis for our short film. Most of those surveyed were between 16-30 years old, watched films regularly, and enjoyed thriller and horror genres. They said they would recommend the film and thought it should receive a 15 certificate. They provided feedback that the film could be improved by keeping things mysterious until the end, adding more context to the main character's stress, using a darker tone, and employing low key lighting.
Conventions of a psychological horror
Psychological horror films aim to scare and unsettle viewers through implying threats and menaces rather than directly showing graphic violence or gore. They create fear and suspense by playing on viewers' imaginations and fears of the unknown. Common conventions of the genre include dark, mysterious settings that feel realistic; unsettling sounds and music; characters that are not what they seem; low-key lighting that hides things in darkness; and weapons that harm the mind as much as the body. Popular psychological horror films like The Sixth Sense, Silence of the Lambs, and Sinister use these techniques to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
Certificate of film
The BBFC examines films before release to protect children from unsuitable content and inform consumers. The film discussed received a 15 certificate, which means it could contain drugs, imitable dangerous behavior, strong language, threats, violence, and frightening or threatening scenes. The film was given a 15 rating rather than 12 due to strong physical and psychological threat and horror sequences that a younger audience may not understand due to depicting sleep paralysis and psychological aspects.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
