Acxiom signs an agreement to sell its Acxiom Marketing Solutions (AMS) business to Interpublic Group for $2.3 billion in cash. The sale will allow Acxiom to focus on its LiveRamp identity infrastructure business and provide capital to fund LiveRamp's continued growth. Acxiom expects to use the proceeds to repay debt, return up to $1 billion to shareholders through a stock tender offer and repurchases, and pursue organic and inorganic investments to support LiveRamp. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the calendar year pending regulatory and shareholder approvals.
