Season 1

Prologue:

An immense cylinder of stone jutted out of the landscape, imposing in its size. Battlement upon battlement
arose before him, empty windows staring like dead eyes, examining the jungle behind him. A cloud of
dread seemed somehow to cling to the roots and branches that strangled the cold stone wall. He smiled
slowly, and began to clamber up the broken, crumbling stairway, on the eastern wall of the stone body. As
he climbed, the soft westerly breeze whisped at his silvery hair.

Also as he climbed, and left the shade below, as the light touched his skin, the long scar across his left
cheek twinkled lightly, but was brushed away by his hand. As he reached the peak of the crumbling stairs,
the sun was blocked out momentarily, by a flying shadow that darted across the early Summer sky. A harsh
screech echoed across the lonely quiet jungle around him. As the shadow neared, a smile crept across the
old face of the man, his pale lips curved. “We found it Skarmory,” the man smiled, as his pokemon landed
next to him. His armour plated body glared in the sunlight, his wings dazzling as he tottered and hopped
along beside his trainer, as they entered the tower through a cracked archway.

Despite the light beaming in through the cracked entrance, the first room in the tower was dull, dark and
cold. A groan echoed from the man, muttering “Skarmory, return.” The red light of Skarmory’s pokeball
briefly lit up the room, and the man’s eyes darted around, but as quickly as the light appeared, it
disappeared. The click of pokeballs echoed briefly before he spoke again. “Solrock, use Flash.” As his
Pokemon appeared a blinding pure white orb exploded into existence, sending light into every crack of the
structure, and outwards into the surrounding jungle. Solrock appeared, with a large white orb floating
beside her, following her as she moved, and lighting up the rooms. “Good, now, it should be in the Main
Chamber downstairs.”

His footsteps along the cold stone floor were low, and echoed softly through the cold, untouched walls. He
sighed, as he exited the entrance chamber, and came to more stairs, but heading down. “All that way up, to
go all this way down” He muttered, as Solrock quickly floated down, lighting the cylindrical stairway. The
stairs spun around and around, and seemed to go on forever. After finally reaching the bottom, the echoing
footsteps ended, and the trickle of water started. A thin layer of water covered the stone floor at the bottom
of the stairs, and he quickly stepped through it, water sloshing.

The light from Solrock helped illuminate a long corridor, and showed the source of the water. On each side
of the corridor, three gentle waterfalls poured water onto the gulleys beside the pathway. He smiled as the
light from Solrock showed what he was looking for at the end of the long cold corridor. His pace
quickened, and Solrock darted to the end of the corridor, circled around a podium, and quickly floated
back. “Sol-l-sol-rock!” She growled, and a smile came across the old man’s face. “Good.”

As he reached the podium, his pace slowed, before he came to a complete stop. He circled the podium
twice, and looked down at it in awe and relief. A circular stone lay still, held in place because of the
intricately designed stand of rock that held it. As the man circled it, different areas of the stone shone in the
light. As he stopped, the pattern on the rock became clearer. “This is it” the man smiled at his Solrock.
Gracefully, and extremely carefully, his warm fingers wrapped around the stone, and lifted it from the
podium.

He breathed a sigh of relief, as nothing happened. He had expected some sort of trap or disaster to occur
once he had done so, but nothing of the sort happened. With Solrock floating alongside him, he headed
back through the water, to the stairs, and then back outside. The sunlight hitting his face was a welcome
feeling, and he scrambled into his jacket pocket. There were a serious of chimes, which were then met with
a grumbled voice. “What is it?” the voice said.
“Sir, I’ve found it” the man said, running his fingers over the smooth surface of the stone.
“Brilliant, was it where Chrono said?”
“Exactly, he was even right about the stairs” the man joked.
“Perfect. Bring it back to Kanto as quickly as possible.”
“I will Boss.”
“You have done brilliantly, Gordor.”
