1. PAR Project - Psychology of High Performance
Once upon a time two sciences (Psychology and
Education) who invited three sports (tennis field,
soccer and futsal) to visit their fields.
From this union was born the ...

The mere talent brings no income, the more
development.
It takes much more!

3. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
To end a legend that has become common in the football
environment - delegate to the lucky or unlucky responsibility of
results - the only way out is to invest in the scientific field.
The PAR Project opened two fronts
unexplored throughout the history
of football: behavior and movement.
After all, what mobilizes the athlete
on the field in pursuit of their goals
individual?
How your personal skills can promote the collective performance of
the team?
4. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
For the psychologist and educator Mario Rodrigues, high
performance can be achieved by all athletes through the resources
of thought.
"The athletes think when they're little in practice."
This is justified by the occurrence of negative events in many games
(ball dispute by disagreements, excessive absences, individual
mistakes not accepted by the other team members, etc.).
5. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
In 1987, Mario Rodrigues, former tennis player field, soccer, futsal,
graduated in psychology and pedagogy, created the Santos Football
Club 1st Centre for Studies and Research on Behavior and
Performance Athlete Football, a unique initiative in time and still
today, since the area of behavior is still poorly explored, there
considering its importance in an athlete or team performance.

The initiative in the time honored
with a medal by the club.
Later, at the invitation of
President of the Orange F.C.
(Los Angeles-USA), conducted the
first scientific studies in
U.S. athletes to establish
and develop current scientific
findings on regularity of income.
7. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
After returning from the U.S.A., Mario Rodrigues began publicizing
the PAR Project in newspapers, sports radio shows, TV, lectures and
presentations at clubs.

8. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
Given the disclosures in the media, the former athlete Jonas Eduardo
Américo, Edu, left-winger Santos FC and the Brazilian national team,
became interested in the content and formalized its support for the
PAR Project. Between 2010 and 2012 the PAR Project was presented
to Santos FC, which considered a bold and revolutionary content.
Other clubs also recorded high praise for the content of the PAR
project.

Polarity and Unity - What is the importance of these two aspects to the PAR
Project?
I +TU = WE
When you say "I", the athlete is separated from everything he perceives as
"non-self, like you" (opponent). The athlete's awareness divides everything
into pairs of opposites that become conflicting. This athlete is forced to
decide occurring, make a choice. For harmony, unity, the athlete has to
understand and learn from both sides. Unable to meet and learn without
polarity. (Example: trial and error, victory and defeat, my acting and
performance of the opponent.
Practical example of polarity:
INSPIRATION AND EXPIRATION = Anyone who refuses to
expire can no longer inspire.
A hub depends on the other.

14. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
The PAR Project - Psychology of High Performance is based on the
study, analysis and use of resources of thought, integrating with the
Pedagogy. Works with 3 main axes in the observatory examination of
thought:
ENVIRONMENT
reveal the universe in which the athlete is inserted.
FUNCTIONALITY
observed modes to be made by the athlete from
the experiences reported in its history.
REACTION
the ways that the athlete has to deal with the relation
emotion x reasoning.
15. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
The PAR Project is a project manager of high performance that goes
beyond traditional psychology and is the regularity of results by
integrating the practical concepts of football with the psychology and
pedagogy, establishing its guidelines for the adoption of the principle
of predictability during practice.
"Do not approach the technical, tactical and fitness
but what is behind it all "
16. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
The practical results achieved by
traditional workouts are short of
need for achieving regular and
high performance, duly verified
day-to-day.
Reality shows need for change.
17. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
A simple change of coach that clubs are not
successful usually make the positive effects that
leaders and fans expect.
May be beneficial in the beginning, because every
athlete wants to get a space, one that has already
and want to keep one that has no wants to win.
18. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
But during the process it is
essential to monitor the
dynamics of the athletes,
which is different every day
and can lead to continuous
fluctuations in income if not
accompanied by individual
and collective action.
19. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
PAR is a project that moves from the first
category to the Professional category, enabling
athletes and coaches to act within a scientific
line, providing the training of athletes within a
standard high performance functional profile.
20. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
Our goal is to improve the technique through better exploitation of
resources in thought. Athletes use less than one third of its resources
from the thought.
21. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
The PAR considers that the high performance is directly linked to the
relationship of athletes, the faults are connected to natural mobility
of thought that goes into the past and into the future numerous times
and also by poor perception of movement in practice.
22. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
After all, if the football player knows the technique,
what is the real cause of the oscillation of income?
23. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
Simple.
1) The athlete has not mastered
the technique;
2) The athlete does not control the
pressure and anxiety because it is
required of him under an obligation
not to win or lose;
4) The athlete does not "measure
forces" with the opponent with
the right strategies.
3) The athlete can not perform on stage
time predictability / post-present;
24. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
Opens two fronts never scientifically investigated: the behavior and
movement. Through five experiments (3 theoretical and 2 practical)
established the principle of predictability in football, divided into
three areas:
Affective
Cognitive
Space-body
25. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
Explains technical mastery through the features of thought:
Principle of Affective Predictability
predict events in the game.
Principle of Cognitive Predictability
predict movements of self and other.
Principle Space-Body Predictability
perception of space it occupies.
26. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
THE PRINCIPLE OF AFFECTIVE PREDICTABILITY
Provides for the identification of the consequences of the acts of the
athletes in the practical field (relationship with teammates, opponents
and arbitration, which are the three spots during practice).
27. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
THE PRINCIPLE OF AFFECTIVE PREDICTABILITY
Therefore, athletes must have that are located in this post, which is the
stage of predictability, to achieve high performance in practice. The
functional part of thought exerts a great influence on the activity.
The thought is mobile and floating and suffers the interference
of emotions.
The athlete loses at various times their attention span and
reasoning during practice, which causes failures in the game.
28. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
THE PRINCIPLE OF COGNITIVE PREDICTABILITY
Concerns the identification of the opponent's movements. The PAR
Project envisages the basic types of lower limb movements that identify
the trajectory of the opponent, ensuring greater control over the power
to disarm, and make more efficient the athlete passes, dribbling and
kicking and moving closer to perfection and high performance.
29. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
THE PRINCIPLE OF COGNITIVE PREDICTABILITY
It is worth mentioning that this cognitive principle does not diminish the
attacker, since for him improvise his art he needs predictability, ie, the
attacker needs to anticipate situations to show their art, working as a
mental creation of various scenes in thought, more or less as comics.
Unpredictability is unlimited and requires a multitude of creative
exercises scenes.
30. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
THE PRINCIPLE SPACE-BODY PREDICTABILITY
This use of physical resource for their own benefit, watching over the
opponent instead of committing unnecessary fouls, and the development
of space-body perception,
improving athlete in their visual ability
to perceive in space, avoiding,
with that body shocks and placements
incorrect because 100% of goals conceded
by a staff originate from the inability
Athletes - reduced visual perception,
spatial and body;
31. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
THE PRINCIPLE SPACE-BODY PREDICTABILITY
Among the activities of the PAR project stand out individual care to
athletes, monitoring the relationship dynamics of the practice activities
and games, application exercises, body awareness space (ensures the
team not conceding goals) and observation of movement exercises
(favors disarming and the resumption of the ball).
32. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
THE PRINCIPLE SPACE-BODY PREDICTABILITY
Furthermore, the PAR Project also includes the
application and measurement of TPL-PAR test
identifying the ideal psychological profile for
high yield, leadership models and
relationship dynamics and posture
athletes in different game situations
the favorable result in unfavorable outcome,
pressure the opponent, conflict with opponent).
It also has the TMOP-PAR test, which measures
the oscillation of thought during practice.
33. Scientific Rationale for the Methodology of the PAR Project
THE PRINCIPLE SPACE-BODY PREDICTABILITY
All tactical plan depends on the congruence of
the individual skills of athletes, ie, need to act in
harmony, not only as individual primarily
collaborate to meet a collective need.
34. Planning activities of the PAR Project
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
Presentation of the PAR Project for
athletes, informing about the guidelines
and objectives of the PAR (slides).
Follow within specific activities, athletes
of all categories, according to criteria
priorities. The PAR Project aims to train
the athlete within a desired profile of
high yield, makes no distinction
between athletes and imposes no

games to not generate income or oscillation
in the same conflict, but also encourage the integration of personal
skills and characteristics personality athletes within the dynamics of
practices and games in order to ensure the unity of the group, group
dynamics pre-and post-game, whenever there is a need to discuss
expectations and instabilities;

schedule of training (capacity enhancement team not conceding goals);
39. Planning activities of the PAR Project
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
Periodic application of exercise
observation of movements double, on schedule
of training (and encourage

ball);
40. Planning activities of the PAR Project
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
Application and measurement of TPL-PAR test, which identifies the
ideal psychological profile for high performance, models of leadership
and relationship dynamics / posture of athletes in different game
situations (in favorable result in unfavorable outcome, the opponent's
pressure, conflicts with opponent) and TMOP-PAR test, which
measures the oscillation thought athlete in practice;
41. Planning activities of the PAR Project
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
Monitor and control the antagonism x superiority-inferiority in this
activity, the main destabilizing factor of a team; enhance the condition of
"serving to be served," fundamental psychological characteristic for the
preservation of psychological unity of the group, the distinction of
athletes as also among athletes in their characteristics
undertake personal and sports performance
conference a team;
42. Planning activities of the PAR Project
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
Periodic control performancebased central tenet of thought (
Environment Axis, Functionality
Axis and Reaction Axis) and rates
of evolution of active
predictability in the activity
(affective, cognitive and spacebody);
43. Planning activities of the PAR Project
Explore the structure of the thought of athletes as part of the
psychological area and determining the high-yield, improving the aspects
embedded in the Principle of Predictability:
Affection
identification of behaviors that impair high performance - compared with group
colleagues, opponents and arbitration.
Cognitive
explain the functioning of thought in the assimilation of existing types of
movements and orientation as the correct way to keep a high level of
predictability, reasoning and memory, in order to develop practical action in this
post-stage.
Space
using the cognitive part of the mind as a reference guide athletes as to improve
the space-body perception and visual ability to perceive the space, avoiding
shocks and incorrect placements.
44. Planning activities of the PAR Project
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
The PAR Project is responsible for an intermediate between the
professional staff and the Under-20 in order to prepare it in the
functional profile
the specific methodology.
The working system is descending,
initiate and monitor the professional team
and the intermediate.
The methodology is applied to the U-20 and
will gradually be introduced
the categories below, under-17, under-15,
under-13 and under-11.
