The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).
AI Trends in Creative Operations 2024 by Artwork Flow.pdfmarketingartwork
Creative operations teams expect increased AI use in 2024. Currently, over half of tasks are not AI-enabled, but this is expected to decrease in the coming year. ChatGPT is the most popular AI tool currently. Business leaders are more actively exploring AI benefits than individual contributors. Most respondents do not believe AI will impact workforce size in 2024. However, some inhibitions still exist around AI accuracy and lack of understanding. Creatives primarily want to use AI to save time on mundane tasks and boost productivity.
Organizational culture includes values, norms, systems, symbols, language, assumptions, beliefs, and habits that influence employee behaviors and how people interpret those behaviors. It is important because culture can help or hinder a company's success. Some key aspects of Netflix's culture that help it achieve results include hiring smartly so every position has stars, focusing on attitude over just aptitude, and having a strict policy against peacocks, whiners, and jerks.

It operates through a divisional structure with a focus on local consumers.

Google's Just Not That Into You: Understanding Core Updates & Search IntentLily Ray
1. Core updates from Google periodically change how its algorithms assess and rank websites and pages. This can impact rankings through shifts in user intent, site quality issues being caught up to, world events influencing queries, and overhauls to search like the E-A-T framework.
2. There are many possible user intents beyond just transactional, navigational and informational. Identifying intent shifts is important during core updates. Sites may need to optimize for new intents through different content types and sections.
3. Responding effectively to core updates requires analyzing "before and after" data to understand changes, identifying new intents or page types, and ensuring content matches appropriate intents across video, images, knowledge graphs and more.

2. Uvod
osvjetljaj, sjaj, koeficijent transmisije, refleksije i apsorpcije.
3. Osnovni pojmovi
emitira izvor svjetlosti u svim smjerovima. U uskom intervalu
K=Фv/Фe
Svjetlosni fluks predstavlja snagu zračenja koju emitira izvor u svim
smjerovima. Jedinica za svjetlosni fluks je lumen (lm):
1(lm)=1(cd)∙1(sr)
3
4. Osnovni pojmovi
Jačina svjetlosti ili svjetlosni intenzitet I je
brojno jednaka svjetlosnom fluksu koji je emitovan
u jedinični prostorni ugao:
I=∆Фv/∆ω
monohromatsko zračenje frekvencije 5.4·1014 Hz, a
ima u tom pravcu energetsku jačinu od 1/683
W/sr.
Jačina svjetlosti može se predstaviti vektorom.
Spajanjem svih vrhova vektora, u jednoj ravnini
izvora svjetlosti dobija se krivulja distribucije
jačine svjetlosti – fotometrijska krivulja.
4
5. Osnovni pojmovi
Osvjetljenost je mjera za količinu svjetlosnog
fluksa koja pada na odredjenu površinu. Jedinica
sistemu. Inače se lux definiše kao osvjetljenost 1.
kvadratnog metra na koju pada ravnomjerno
rasporedjen svjetlosni fluks od 1(lm). Radi se isključivo
o računskoj veličini koju ljudsko oko ne registruje.
5
Osvjetljenost je jednaka:
E =Ev= dФ/dS, ili E=Ф/S.
cosα.
6. Osnovni pojmovi
Razlikuju se dvije vrste osvjetljenosti: osvjetljenost površine i
osvjetljenost u tački.
6
Osvjetljenost površine je omjer svjetlosnog fluksa
izvora svjetlosti koji pada okomito na zadanu
površinu i zadane površine. U slučaju da svjetlosni
fluks pada na zadanu površinu pod uglom α,
osvjetljenost je manja i iznosi:
E’=Ф’/A = Ф cosα/A = E cos α.
kvadrata udaljenosti, i iznosi E = I/r2. U slučaju da
svjetlosni fluks pada na tačku pod uglom γ,
osvjetljenost u toj tački dobivamo kao rezultantu
horizontalne i vertikalne rasvijetljenosti: Eh i Ev.
Eh = E cos γ ; Ev = E sin γ
7. Osnovni pojmovi
(horizontalna i vertikalna):

vidjeti.
L=I/S (cd/m2)
9
10. Osnovni pojmovi
refleksivnih površina (faktor refleksije jednak u svim smjerovima),
jednostavno povezati luminanciju i osvjetljenost sljedećim izrazom:
10
E
L
Ovisnost luminancije o površini
Budući da je luminanciju u tom
slučaju jednostavno izračunati
putem osvjetljenosti, onda se
vrijednosti za unutarnju rasvjetu
uvijek daju u lx (osvjetljenost).
11. Osnovni pojmovi
do 780 nm.
11
12. Izvori svjetlosti - podjela
12
Izvore svjetlosti prvenstveno dijelimo prema načinu generiranja
svjetlosti – principom termičkog zračenja (žarulje sa žarnom niti) i
principom luminiscencije (žarulje na izboj).
13. Klasifikacija izvora svjetlosti prema energetskoj
efikasnosti
13
Najštedljiviji izvori svjetlosti imaju oznaku A+/A++, a najrastrošniji
imaju oznake E, F i G.
14. Klasifikacija izvora svjetlosti prema energetskoj
efikasnosti
14
U zemljama EU zabranjena je upotreba neefikasnih izvora svjetlosti
15. Svjetiljke
15
1. Nošenje i pogon izvora svjetlosi
2. Postizanje željene raspodjele svjetlosnog fluksa koji emituju izvori
svjetlosti
3. Smanjenje sjajnosti izvora svjetlosti
4. Zaštita izvora svjetlosti i dodatne opreme
5. Održavanje radne temperature izvora svjetlosti u predviđenim
granicama
6. Jednostavna montaža i održavanje
7. Dovoljno visok stepen iskorištenosti
8. Prijatan estetski izgled i mogućnost uklapanja u arhitekturu
okoline
16. Zahtjevi pri projektovanju rasvjete
Prilikom projektiranja rasvjete treba voditi računa o sljedećem:
Namjena prostora određuje jakost i tip rasvjete
Geometrija prostora određuje izvedbu (način ugradnje)
Specifični zahtjevi
Nivo osvjetljenosti (Em)
16
17. Svjetlotehnički proračuni
17
Za proračun osvjetljenosti postoje sljedeće metode:
Metoda iskoristivosti (lumen metoda)
proračunati potreban broj i tip svjetiljki.
E=(ukupan svj.fluks na radnoj površini)/(površina radne plohe)
18. Svjetlotehnički proračuni
18
ηR=f(k,ρ)
gdje je k faktor prostora i iznosi k = (a*b)/ h(a+b) gdje je h=H-
0.85 korisna udaljenost radne plohe od plafona.
Stepen iskorištenja prostora zavisi od sistema osvjetljenja, stepena
iskorištenja odabrane svjetiljke, koeficijenta refleksije tavanice i zidova
i indeksa prostorije (kreće se izmedju 0.15-0.8).
Prosječna ovjetljenost radne plohe je:
E=(ns·ni·Ф0·ηL·ηR·f)/a*b
gdje je ns-broj svjetiljki, ni-broj izvora svjetlosti u svjetiljci,ηL-
pogonska iskoristivost svjetiljke, ηR-faktor iskoristivosti prostora, f-
faktor održavanja, a,b-dimenzije prostora, i Ф0-svjetlosni fluks jedne
sijalice.
19. Svjetlotehnički proračuni
19
Metoda tačke daje potpune i pecizne rezultate osvjetljenosti i koristi
se za proračun osvjetljenosti u proizvoljnoj tački. Osvjetljenost na
svakoj plohi ima vertikalnu i horizontalnu komponentu. Horizontalna
osvjetljenosti.
Osnovni sistemi unutrašnje rasvjete su:
opća rasvjeta
zonska opća rasvjeta,
lokalna rasvjeta i
nužna rasvjeta.
22
Tip i proizvođača
istoj grupi.
dodatnu rasvjetu radnih mjesta.
rasvjete u prostoriji.
Postoje tri oblika nužne rasvjete:
protivpanična, bezbjedonosna i pomoćna.
Prema vrsti napajanja, svjetiljke za
sigurnosno osvjetljenje djele se na
svjetiljke sa lokalnim i svjetiljke sa
centralnim napajanjem.
26
27. Rasvjeta industrijskih pogona
Rasvjeta industrijskih pogona (skraćeno: industrijska rasvjeta) pokriva
ekstremno širok opseg različitih radnih prostora (radionica i fabričkih hala)
i najraznovrsnijih vidnih zadataka.
raspoznavanja sitnih detalja predmeta, itd.), potreban stepen ograničenja direktnog
blještanja, potrebu za eleiminisanjem reflektovanog blještanja, potrebnu boju i
stepen reprodukcije boje izvora svjetlosti (od posebnog značaja u tekstilnoj
industriji), itd.
ravnomjernost osvjetljenosti i smanjuje direktno blještanje.
izvori svjetlosti postave u nizove paralelne prozorima.
živinim i natrijumovim izvorima visokog pritiska. Koje će se rješenje
primjeniti, prije svega zavisi od tehnološkog procesa.
29
Industrijski objekat treće
kategorije: sa ravnim krovom
(a) i sa šed krovom (b)
30. Rasvjeta industrijskih pogona
natrijumovih izvora visokog pritiska, čiji veliki svjetlosni fluksevi
omogućavaju postizanje željenog nivoa osvjetljenosti primjenom relativno
malog broja svjetlosnih izvora.
30
Oni se najčešće izvode pomoću
osnosimetričnih svjetiljki sa
sjajnim reflektorom, pri čemu
se snaga izvora svjetlosti kreće
između 250 – 1000 W
