The Project for Integrated Education for Disabled Children (PIED) was a joint venture between the Ministry of Human Resource Development and UNICEF that aimed to strengthen support for disabled children's education. It launched initiatives in several Indian states to provide special teaching aids and equipment, plan educational facilities using a composite area approach, and monitor children's progress with the ultimate goal of integrating all disabled children into general schools.
