This survey was conducted by University of Kentucky researchers in Wollongong, Australia to gauge public opinion on a planned container deposit system. 99 beachgoers were surveyed about their recycling habits and preferences for redeeming containers. Key findings were that less than 1/3 were aware of the upcoming program, and the most popular redemption method was donating containers to charity (76%). Providing incentives at grocery stores increased interest in using reverse vending machines to 80%. Location of recycling centers was a concern for some. The researchers concluded public preference was for convenient redemption options that did not require out-of-way trips.

The document discusses how Bechtel used Lean techniques to improve construction of Jubail Industrial City in Saudi Arabia. It summarizes that Bechtel used tools like value stream mapping, process simulation, and standard work to identify inefficiencies causing delays. This included lack of leadership, wasted time in processes, and disorganized inventory. Changes like dedicating resources and establishing pull operations rather than pushing production helped increase panel delivery from 18 to 75 per day. In total, Lean techniques led to a 300% productivity gain and reliably meeting production requirements.

Embedded Web Server based Interactive data acquisition and Control SystemIOSR Journals
This document summarizes an embedded web server based interactive data acquisition and control system. The system uses an ARM9 processor running RTLinux to both acquire data from sensors and control industrial devices. It allows remote monitoring and control via a web browser. The ARM9 handles data acquisition, control functions, and an embedded web server simultaneously. Analog sensor signals are converted to digital with an ADC and stored in external memory. The web server portion allows clients to access the stored data and send control instructions via HTML pages to the ARM9 over Ethernet. This embedded single-board solution provides real-time data acquisition and control with remote access capabilities.
The feasibility of using microorganisms in absolute industrial effluent conditions was not successful in the past, until the breakthrough achieved by Seema Sharma, Senior Research Fellow, and Dr Alok Adholeya, Director, Biotechnology and Management of Bioresources Division, TERI (2011).

Sewing is the craft of fastening objects using stitches made with a needle and thread. It is one of the oldest textile arts, dating back to the Stone Age. The sewing section organizes production, oversees quality control, and hands off completed garments to finishing. The finishing section then presses and folds garments, inspects for defects, packages the products, and arranges shipment for delivery. Together, these sections comprise the final stages of garment production from cut fabric to finished product.
The document discusses various defects that can occur during fabric manufacturing and inspection. It notes that fabric defects result from issues during the manufacturing process like machine faults, yarn problems, or improper finishing. Automated fabric inspection systems are growing in importance for the textile industry as most defects are still found manually. The document reviews several studies on different techniques for automated fabric inspection including texture analysis, neural networks, and Gabor filtering.
This document provides information about an industrial training at Biswas Synthetic Ltd, a textile company in Bangladesh. It includes details about the company profile, various production sections like knitting, dyeing, finishing, and quality control. 1) A textile is a woven fabric made by interlacing warp and weft threads. Textiles now also refer to fibers, yarns and products made from them.
2) Weaving produces fabric by intersecting the warp (lengthwise) and weft (crosswise) threads. Yarn preparation involves winding yarn onto packages to facilitate weaving and removing faults.
3) Different types of fabrics include woven, knitted, non-woven and special fabrics. Proper yarn preparation and tension are important to produce good quality fabric during weaving.

1. The document provides instructions for threading a single needle lock stitch sewing machine and winding a bobbin. It explains that threading the machine correctly is important for proper stitching.
2. The threading process involves guiding the thread through 7 parts of the machine: spool pin, thread guides, tension mechanism, take-up lever, additional thread guides, and finally through the needle.
3. Bobbin winding involves guiding the thread through tension disks, inserting it in the bobbin and placing the bobbin on the spindle to wind automatically until full before cutting the excess thread.

12. Work content
Work content means the amount of work "Contained in" a given product or process
measured in man-hour or machine hour. The basic work content is the time the
product would take to manufacture on the operation to perform, if the design or
specification was perfect, if the process of method of manufacture or operation was
perfectly carried out, and if there was no loss of working time from any cause
whatever during the period of the operation.
The basic work content is the irreducible minimum time theoretically required to
produce one unit of output.
Total Work Content = Basic Work Content + Added Work Content
13. PRODUCTIVITY
A general definition of productivity is
the relationship between the output
generated by production and the input
provided to create this output.

Productivity = -----------------

14. From the definition of productivity, it is
apparent that a higher total productivity may
result, if-
• More output is produced with the same on lesser input.
• The Same output is produced with lesser input, and
• More output is produced with more input; the
proportional increase in output being more that the increase in
input.

22. According to table-1
The existing production of the closing line-1 was 250 pieces Bag per day.
Standard output of the line-1 (at 100% capacity) was 509 pieces per day.
Total no of worker was 80.
Work content (Minutes) per bag was 75.45
So the efficiency of the existing line was 49.12%
According to table -2 & table -3
Standard output of the modified closing line -1 (at 100% capacity) could be 561
Pieces Bag per day.
Work content (Minutes) of proposed line is 68.37 minutes.
So productivity increasing 10.21% by using same labour.
Work content reduction is 7.08 minutes.
23. 1. Line layout should be balanced according to sequence of operation.
2. Show board may be made for every article to ensure correct specification
3. Less order may be avoided.
4. Supervisor and worker need training.
5. Attitude towards work should be positive.
6. A preventive maintenance schedule should be strictly followed.
7. Incentives may be introduced to skill enhancement.
8. The sewing operator may be trained to keep hand away from balance wheel.
9. Skilled operators must be appointed for critical operations.
10. Line balancing and workers distribution may be done using standard times.
11. A regular training program (Non-Technical and Technical) on transactional analysis, Motivation,
quality concept, productivity etc. could be organized.
12. Workers should be encouraged to point out any inconstancies.
13. Efficiency calculation should be done on monthly basis.
14. Workers rating could be introduced according to the performance so that it acts as a guide for
improvement.
15. The wage difference of machine operator and manual operator is very less; therefore there is little
motivation for skill enhancement. Wages difference should be more.
16. After critical operation, there should be stage inspection.
17. During production, rework may not be done which need to change thread.
