art (or a great project):
• Start with an idea.
• Ask certain quesCons.
• Go through a process: visualize, strategize and
implement.
• Assess, measure and evaluate constantly.
• Work hard and remember to have fun.
• Change direcCon if necessary.
• Be ready to scrap the whole thing and start over
(someCmes what results is be8er than the original).
• Celebrate success.

4. It starts with an idea:
• What’s the vision for this
project?
• Wouldn’t it be great if...
• Here’s what we’re trying to
do.
• This is the goal.

5. Gathering resources.
• What tools and resources do we need?
• Whom do we need on this project?
– (What canvas, paints, brushes, other materials do I
need?)
• Where will we find them?
• How long will it take? (Best and worst case
scenarios).

6. Strategize.
• Now that we have everything laid out before
us, how will we proceed?
• How will the next 6 months, year, etc. look?
• How will our departments, resources, people,
work together to result in the desired
objecCves?
– How will this paint, these colors and material work
together and interact on the canvas?

8. It’s a dance, with analysis.
• Repeat the process over and over and over.

9. It doesn’t always turn out the way you
planned.
• Mishaps, changing goals, dissaCsfied
customers (internal and external) will o[en
change the direcCon or derail a project.
• Be ready to change course or start over.
• You can always salvage or learn from a project
(or painCng) that “fails.” The lessons learned
or unexpected turn may help immeasurably
and even be a source of inspiraCon next Cme
around.
