1. IG3 Production Log
Tuesday 11th September
Today we reviewed all of our short film pre-production from last year which included looking
through our final scripts and storyboards. Once we had done our group had a meeting to discuss
what time and date we would be filming, when we needed to book out filming equipment and
discussed about what actors/actresses we would be using. After the meeting Adam sent an email to
Chris to confirm the booking of the equipment for next Wednesday.
Thursday 13th September
Today we created a new folder for our editing work for our project called ‘Luke Finlay IG3 Short Film
Edit’. We then opened up the Adobe Premiere programme and created a set up for our film. We set
up a file for a standard version and a HD version of the film.
Wednesday 10th October
Today we went to WestOne in Eccles to shoot the first bits of our film. We went to Subway and
filmed James walking in to the shop. We did three different shots, one of James from behind, one
facing the door and a close up of his hand pushing the door.
Monday 15th October
Today we uploaded the footage of the scene we shot. We then put them in a separate folder in our
home directories. We then opened an Adobe Premiere project and started the editing for our film.
Tuesday 16th October
Today we had a team meeting a scheduled to go filming tomorrow in town. Adam booked the
equipment needed for tomorrow. James said he could organise the actors in our film. We scheduled
to go once we finished Damen’s lesson at 11:00 am.
Tuesday 23rd October
Today our group decided to change our film idea to my original idea of a group of boys going to see
their local team in the cup final. We went over to WestOne Retail Park and filmed a total of 5 shots
for the film. Alyx then went home and filmed more shots that needed to be done at home. We all
agreed to go out and do more filming after Damen’s lesson tomorrow at about 11:00 am.
Wednesday 24th October
Today we went out to do more filming. We based our filming at Eccles bus station and got around 5
shots for our film. Again Alyx went home to do a few more shots he needed to do at his house. We
will start the editing process tomorrow in Iain’s lesson.
Thursday 25th October
Today we started the editing process for our film on Adobe Premiere. Alyx uploaded all the footage
we have got so far and then we imported in to our Premiere Project.

2. Monday 5th November
I had put together a sequence using all the footage we have filmed so far on Adobe Premiere. We
are planning to do more filming during the week.
Thursday 8th November
Today I went on to Adobe After Effects to put together an opening title sequence and end credits for
the film.
Monday 12th November
Today I started a new Microsoft Word document and I had to write a few sentences explaining the
pictures that we had taken so far.
Tuesday 13th November
Today I finished off my end credits in Adobe After Effects and rendered it to my documents. I then
carried on with my opening title sequence.
Monday 19th November
Today I go together all the work that I have finished so far and uploaded it on to my blog. Our group
decided that we would go out and continue filming so we booked some filming equipment for that
date.
Wednesday 21st November
Today Alyx went back to his house to record a few more shots that needed doing and a few shots
that needed re shooting.
Thursday 22nd November
Today we transferred all the clips that were shot yesterday on to the computer. We then imported
them in to our Premiere Project and edited them in to the film.
