Purpose Procrastination definition Why we procrastinate Methods to Overcome Procrastination
1 The meaning
Putting off important tasks to the last minute. Procrastinators often never perform the required task.
Procrastination affects millions of people. It can best be defined as delaying required or desired tasks by choosing other activities.
2 The reasons
Want to avoid work you don’t like. Waiting the “right” mood or the “right” time. Too “Busy” to get the really important things done. Afraid of failing. Can’t make a decision. Given up hope that a situation can be changed or affected. Overworked, tired.
Procrastination leads to stress and/or self-esteem.
3 How to Overcome Procrastination
Plan your day each day. Plan your week. Break down big tasks into smaller components. Get help making decisions. Believe in yourself and in your ability to accomplish anything you want.
work smarter, not harder
Step 1: Recognize that you're Procrastinating Some useful indicators which will help you pull yourself up as soon as you start procrastinating include: Filling your day with low priority tasks from your To Do List. Reading an e-mail or request that you've noted in your notebook or on your To Do List more than once, without starting work on it or deciding when you're going to start work on it. Sitting down to start a high-priority task, and almost immediately going off to make a cup of coffee or check your e-mails. Leaving an item on your To Do list for a long time , even though you know it's important. Regularly saying "Yes" to unimportant tasks that others ask you to do, and filling your time with these instead of getting on with the important tasks already on your list.
Ask someone else to check up on you. Always remind yourself that you are getting money from this work thus you have to do it. Start with some quick, small tasks if you can.
Conclusion
