The document outlines the procedures of an Ayurvedic massage, which includes a hot shower to soften toxins, an hour-long oil massage, a 10-15 minute steam bath, applying a herbal paste or scrub, another hot shower to remove the paste and oil, and proper rest afterwards to allow the body to absorb the benefits of the treatment. The goal of the Ayurvedic massage is to help break up and remove ama or toxins from the body through techniques like massage, herbal treatments, and steam therapy.
2. Ayurvedic treatments are done with the main idea to crack and eliminate
the toxins present in delicate and unrefined bodies. Ayurvedic massage is
also done with the same objective. Ama or toxins -the grease like stuff,
when retained in the body for long time, becomes firm and inflexible. As a
result the ejection of the rooted toxins becomes more difficult and time
consuming.
General procedures in an Ayurvedic treatment include selected or all of
proper dietetics, specially mixed herbal formulas, massage, yoga treatment
and correct management of lifestyle as stated by the different specialized
establishments for this.
The vast experience of Ayurvedic massage consists of the particular
warmed Dosha Oil, continuous strokes and techniques, whole body steam
application which is followed the herbal formula wash/scrub is an
energetic feel.

4. Hot Shower
Firstly, the grease-like
putrefied waste which is
firm and inflexible has to
get loosened up in order
to break and remove
from the body.
A hot shower will help
in softening the toxins
and will be a good
procedure just before the
Ayurvedic massage.
5. Oil Massage
After the hot shower, one
complete hour of oil massage
has to be done by the user in
which he is strictly advised
not to communicate in order
to experience the devious
effects of the massage.
Even the therapists are
restricted from chatting with
the client or enjoy music, to
get the full concentration in
the massage.
6. The Dosha Oil/Massage Oil applied to the body of a person is
specially prepared for each individual. The applied warm oil will help
in enhanced assimilation of the oil into the skin and thus letting the
blood to pass the herbs and the oil all over the body to execute the
detoxification.
The heat caused by the strokes and the procedures of the massaging
are also a key factor in the process of absorption.
7. Steam Bath
Next step is the steam bath which will last
for 10-15 minutes as determined by Dosha.
Once the client is zipped in the steamer, the
therapist will position a towel around the
neck so that the steam will not leak out of
the steamer through the neck portion of the
client. The user should be watchful not to get
contact with the steam pot under the chair.
Once in the steamer the user is asked to
remove the sarong so the circulation of the
steam will be even.
A provision to unzip the steamer zip is given to the user if he feels excess
heat. When the therapist realizes that the client has been in the steamer for
adequate time he will unzip the steamer zip and it will be good for the
customer to be in the chair for another minute or two to cool down before
stepping out of the steamer. The customer is advised not to put his whole
weight, while stepping out, on the steamer frame.
8. Apply Herbal Paste/Scrub
The next step is the application of the
herbal paste/scrub.
After wiping off the surplus moisture
from the steam bath, the client has to go
back to the massage bed and lie on the
back.To be fully covered with the herbal
paste client needs to turn side from the
position he is lying. Next is to allow the
paste to be absorbed by the skin when it
becomes dry.The scrub which is very
rich in vitamin A and C, exfoliates but
get absorbed and acts a as a purifier of
the blood.
9. Hot Shower
When you are dry
enough it is time to have a
hot shower to wash out
the paste and surplus oil.
It is advised not to use
any soap or shampoo
during this hot shower.
10. Take Proper Rest
The client can now dress
up and leave the treatment
area.
Taking rest after the
massage is really important
because you will feel a bit
weak and sleepy.
Try to avoid strenuous
and stressful work after a
massage.
