2. Problems I have come across
• Sadly, I broke my DSLR camera over lockdown, this became a big issue
when I had started my first part of filming but not the second part. To
combat this issue I used my phone instead, I couldn’t afford to buy a
new camera and at the time, didn’t have access to a college camera.
Over all, this wasn’t too much of an issue as the quality of my phone
is still great. But, sadly, it uploaded in a different view style (so one
part of my production is portrait and the other is landscape).
3. Problems I have come across
• On the first day of the second part of my production is started raining
fairly badly. I had looked at the weather forecast in my planning and
to my understanding it wasn’t supposed to rain but it did. Luckily I
had a contingency plan in place and had enough time to film it a few
days later when the weather had cleared up. In order to not waste
time I started further editing my first part of production.
4. Problems I have come across
• Another problem I faced concerned post production. Some of the
footage I had taken was lit poorly and looked grainy. In order to try
combat this, I used various lighting and contrast effects to try and
colour correct my mistakes. I don’t think this was too successful but it
definitely looked better than it did before.
5. Problems I have come across
• Another issue I came across was loosing my SD card during the first
part of production, I later swapped to my mobile phone but this was
an issue as I couldn’t upload my footage onto a PC and I couldn’t
access a camera shop/ or afford to buy an SD card. Luckily, after doing
some research about the camera, I discovered that my DSLR had a
function in which I could share my cameras images onto my phone.
This helped so much and saved me some valuable time that I could
have lost.
6. Problems I have come across
• In the second part of my production, I had planned to make a “third
eye” make-up look. I ordered some water paints and when they
arrived I tried to practice using them and they didn’t work at all. This
worried me as I couldn’t afford makeup but, luckily, the model told
me that I could use her makeup and my sister gave me some to use
to. The makeup I was given to use, ended up being very effective and
I’m really happy with the outcome of all the makeup looks.
