Baking?

Yeah, My mom used to bake
simple cakes. And there’s nothing
like fresh hot and home made
food.

I baked my first batch of cookies,
in a microwave, when I was 16. It
all started there!
Specialties?

I wish I can say I make everything
best, but then I specialize in
anything with chocolate –
brownies, cakes, cookies, cup
cakes !
Priya’s Feast?


I started blogging when I was in the US.
After I came back, my friend Shalini and I
used to attend workshops. I got in touch
with many chefs, and would discuss
recipes with them.

My husband is with the rotary club and we
have monthly meetings. For one such
meeting, I was paid to make a 3 tier
chocolate truffle cake.

And that’s when I decided to go
commercial.
HBG and Showcase?

I was lucky to be a buyer in the
previous two showcases. And I am
participating this time.

It’s a wonderful group and it’s
good to see that the bakers are
helping each other.
Biggest order?

I made a 25 kg Christmas
cake, in Dec 2010, for a
NGO School.
CFG’s 8th anniversary, return gifts – your
cup cakes were a hit!

Decided just 4 days ahead that I’d do this.
Back breaking and waist twisting work! No
one at home believe that I’d be able to do
it.

Camera, Oven and Hand Beater were all at
the service shop and reached only 2 days
before the event.

It was a dark chocolate cup cake and I
baked day and night. Glad that it was a hit!
Ingredients?

Most of the basic ingredients
are available locally. But there
are some that I get from US.

Friends and family bring them
over when they travel.
